Big wheel thingy in Manchester.
Ooo looks like I caught a load of stars in the shot too, never realised that before. Resized from 4000x3000 and taken on my digicam.

You probably want to run that through Photoshp's Smart Sharpen filter, it's suffered a bit from the resize I fear.

Those are more likely to be flies than stars - Manchester's sky is far too polluted to see the night sky.

Quite remarkable how they have imitated the big dipper star formation then :)

Air to air refuelling hose over the south atlantic. It's almost sexual when it connects.

Fucking lolling here as I can see 00Dave's failed attempts to get the image uploaded correctly - he tried about 10 times before that post :D

yeah trial and error followed by reverse engineering for the win. I had a feeling the mods would be able to see them all.

also those 10 times are just the times I accidently clicked post instead of preview so it could have been worse :) I was getting tired towards the end but didn't want to give up, that's how dedicated to the competition I am. Anyway I'm sorted now no thanks to you lot :twak:

I just counted - it was 16 failed attempts... it took me about 20 minutes to scroll past the deleted posts to find your successful picture post :p

Anyway what do you think of the pic, I was literally crouched behind the pilot next to the open cargo door switches and it was really quite rough weather. If I'd have snapped a second later you would have seen the earthing spark between the connections that shit the life out of me because I wasn't expecting it.

Also note the ford cortina style cream plastic with holes in interior at the top of the photo.

I'm hopefully picking up a new lens tomorrow, and I have just the shot for this theme...

BTW, can someone lend me 3 grand to buy a Canon 5D Mk2 please. If you're not sure what I'm on about, search for it on Vimeo.

If it's video you're after, you could get a K-7 at half the price ;). In terms of video, i've been very impressed by what i've seen so far, even the Canon owners have been raving about it. I've ready of some infancy problems with some K-7s which is a bit of a let down, but a compact, rugged, completely weather sealed (unique) with image stabilisation built into the body make it a very interesting upgrade to me.

Its the sensor size that's the main thing. I can shoot stuff in HD already, but not with a sensor that big.

Nice part of the world Milou, I keep on meaning to pencil in a trip up there because it's not that far from me, but the weather is so damn unpredictable. Also, I don't mean to be a pain but that could be construed as the same shot from a different angle, which is against one of the rules :).
