Calumet are usually very good, used them a lot, anything they don't have in stores they can usually source from their warehouse direct.

I have a Sigma 10-20mm, it truly is a fricking masterpiece . Widely regarded across Canon / Nikon / Sony / Pentax owners.

I was considering the much more expensive Canon wangle but decided that the £800 difference could be spent on something better.

I'm still tempted to be extremely stupid and get a loan or finance to buy the 5D mk2 but I really can't afford to right now.

Would it make that big a difference to you? I've got a 30" x 45" print from 14.6 MP, I can't really think of needing anything more size wise.

The rumoured 60D and 7D will push 5D Mk2 prices down too, i'd wait for that.

It isn't the size, its the size of the sensor, the reduction in depth of field, and the ability to shoot HD at 30p that appeals.

I borrowed a Sigma 12-24mm for my 5D. You can take shots of the back of your head. Sharp though, corner to corner.

Sony have just released information to the public on their latest 24.6 MP full frame a850. List price will be $2000, so I am seriously hoping this'll come in around the £1300 mark. This camera is not to be ignored, I just hope the high ISO noise is improved over the a900.

I'm on the very cusp of buying a Canon EOS-50d so there will be a thread about lenses at some point soooon. Not going to clog this thread but that Sigma 10-20mm does indeed look pretty epic.

Canon are announcing new cameras in September, so expect prices to go through the floor soon. You might also find some bargains second hand on ebay as the "must have" crowd sell up and buy new bodies.

The Sigma 10-20 is indeed epic, however pretty hopeless for landscapes/seascapes without a decent (read: Lee) filtering system.
