The Doc is still reading this thread and trying to ascertain whcih post is the most likely correct diagnosis...personally I say its a severe case of 'Bad Toe' kids used to get it all the time when I was at school, they'd hand in notes at P.E saying they couldn't do any physical acticvity because they had Bad Toe...

i didnt go to the docs. last night i applied one 2000w fan heater to my right foot for an hour. seems a bit more compatible with the rest of my foot for the moment.
purple has subsided and sensation returned.

Well i'd say my medical knowledge was rather good considering the info given.

I atleast eliminated one of the assumptions and gave two very possible scenarios. If i had known he'd been sticking his toe in the freezer, the frostbite would've been a logical choice *harumpf*

Well, diabetes is a silly guess. Long term diabetes may cause amputation needs, but it's a long way of abuse before that happens.

I'd say that it's either a minor fracture(hairline etc) that needs to be checked(might be infected and spreading), or that there's a sharp edge of the toenail that's causing friction and bleeding(also infection/spread possibility).

why is diabetes silly? it runs right through the mothers side of my family.

Being diabetic I agree with Tohtori. I dont think its Diabetes. It's a slow process so you'd notice your feet are cold when not in comfy socks or shoes. Also they would tingle etc.

Also if you were diabetic, you'd have other things like after eating sugary things you would go to toilet alot, which would dehydrate you meaning your mouth goes a bit dry and sticky. You'd have an insatiable thirst and you may get a sugar headache. Oh and your breathe would smell of pear drops.

Being a qualified doctor I think it's most likely that you stubbed your toe and you didn't realise.

Even if you broke your toe there's not a whole lot you can do about it... it's not like breaking a finger.

halp doctor fhot, whats the diagnosis?
I had a weird scab thing that was more like a big bubble of blood on the left side of my chest above my left nipple for a couple of weeks and I just got pissed off with it still being there so I broke it.
Now it won't stop bleeding, and the plasters do nothing! I've put on the biggest ones I can but it keeps on coming seeps through the plaster
I got no bandages or tissues or anything and I think I've ruined one of my towels as it is now very stained.
Can't hold on...much longer....
