Only saw one mention of the Ridley Scott masterpierce Blade Runner so I just have to put in my support for that movie ("It's too bad she won't live... but then again... who does?")... and another Scott piece - Gladiator.
And as I love dark and brooding movies I have to add Terry Gilliam's Twelve Monkeys (I could go on about Bruce Willis's performance in it, if Brad Pitt didn't top it so) and Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands (<3 Johnny Depp) to my list. Everyone else has mentioned so many other great movies so not gonna repeat them all.
