Hi - I know it's possible to use IRC client and DCC to transfer files directly, but are there ways to do so in, say, Skype or other more standard and user friendly apps?

MSN used to have this kinda shit built in. Why would you not just e-mail/Dropbox though Jup?

Meg - 'simple' is the keyword ;) I was checking if any of the 'regular' chat programs could do it.... it's not an issue, my friend :)

They probably all go through a server somewhere on the way to the recipient.

You could always setup an FTP server.

You can drop a file on Skype chat and it transfers over.
