Do some 'maths' on this page and it isnt hard to figure out it's still going to take a littul time so end januari, beginning of februari is a safe bet. On the other hand Vivendi (publisher) didnt do very well this year and still hopes to cash in this year with WoW (and HL2) so who knows

on that website it says "This page was last updated on October 29th, 2004."
so it has prolly been there for a while since the last update was almost 1 month ago (note update, not post).

anyway... i think the open beta will start next friday or so coz stresstests has been made in the US and the game itself has been tested there so what's to be tested in EU? probably only the translating shit and receiving patches from US.
so.. the game is finished, why would they drag it out all the way until february? they can always send people from the US to temporary help the EU team getting started/until they get all the people they need.

stress tests will occur first.. the open beta wont be till about 3 weeks before launch.. just like the us was... so i doubt opne beta will be out till jan.. since the release date is 4th feb.... and ofc if u preorder from the 26th of this month u get guaranteed to enter the eu beta in the next phase.. (after stress test1), they will mirror the us beta format since they want to make sure the servers can handle it in the EU..

The stress test usually gives a reward also to the highest lvl player of each type.. and runner ups also... i believe they give access to the next phase also.. same as us did...

vantros is prob close to the truth tbh.

Preorders are from 26th nov - that doesnt mean anything with respect to the open beta start date.

A company prefers preorders as it can chalk up the cash to this years profits and they will have some idea of demand come release. They tempted people into preordering with the open beta key knowing not all will get the beta pack imo.

I wud be surprised if there wasnt some kind of stress test but that could be accomplished by letting in a large number into the open beta 3 weeks b4 release.

Nah they will do a stress test... its the blizzard way... they do it to overload the servers and make sure they can handle the "stress" of all the incoming players... The stress test wasnt a beta test as such its a server test.. and as i said in the US stress tests they gave away free closed and open beta accounts to people who got high lvls in thier classes... (i believe many of Nolby Pride and Tzee where amoung those)

If u read the terms and conditions of the pre-order pack they have stated there is only a select number of those packs.. its basically first come first served.... so the first ones to pre-order get rewarded not those who pre-order later on...
