Any reason why you cannot put a drive in your PC? That is ok btw, it is a brick with a power supply, ie it is not USB powered.

So when the feds turn up I can grab it and make a break for it!!

I just thought it would be easier to have it external

USB 3 or it's really really pointless imo (unless you use externally accessable SATA).

Yeah, especially with a large drive, the difference in transfer speeds between USB2 and USB3 is staggering. I've always used WD My Book drives (1x1.5tb, 2x2tb, 1x3tb and 1x4tb), they've mostly been retired to offline backup duty now but they're still all going strong.

I do have a external SATA port
