Level 27 DoK here, thought I'd give my opinions on how the class is so far...some of which echo what has been said already.

I'm currently a full torture spec, stacking up on str/wounds and loving it! Finding it quite easy to come first for renown in T3 scenarios (attribute that to what you will, either my skills or opponent incompetence) by employing a mix of damage and healing - you really just have to be able to adapt to your circumstances on the fly. Sometimes it's best to just sit back spamming heals on the mdps and ranged, such as is often the case in Tor Anroc, and other times you can really get in amongst the action, e.g. Tala Dam.

I think the key tactic I employ is hit and run...support the initial tank/mdps rush from the rear and get some hots on the go, then dip in and out of the fray lending DPS support/SR healing where you can. Also, when you are running back out towards the other support classes, you can be spamming a few HOT's on your way before recharging and going back in. I make sure to keep a close eye on the perimeter of the battle as there are often SW/BW hanging around near trees, aside from the action trying to get some sneaky damage in - these are EASY targets and make for good Soul Rend juice :)

There is no class I really have a problem with 1v1 other than a smart Witch Hunter, if they get the drop on me I have to react pretty damn quickly to survive, but any time I actually approach one and engage in combat through my own volition, I almost always win. Saying that, there are some classes I will avoid getting into a 1v1 with, notably Warrior Priests and Ironbreakers...simply because it'll take forever and I can almost always make better use of my time!

I'm conscious that I'm making out DoK to be the ultimate class whereas it does actually have it's drawbacks. Firstly, whilst we are decent healers and decent melee (which when combined makes for formidable 1v1), we aren't great at either. There's no way in a group situation we'll bring more damage than a Witch Elf/Sorc, or more healing than a Zealot, our only direct heal is a morale ability.

Secondly we rely on Soul Essence, not AP, for our heals, therefore if you can survive long enough for us to run out of AP, then we will very quickly run out of Soul Essence as well (SE, which doesn't really regen in combat, requires action points to accumulate), which essentially renders us useless as all we can do is autoattack. I'm no great expert in the other classes yet, but if you have a way to either sap our AP or debuff our healing then we are screwed...I think that a few classes get more of these skills at higher levels, so really it's my expectation that things will level out in Tier 4.

But you are totally OP 1v1 though, hell no class should have the dps/healing ability like the DOK.

I say the same thing with Warrior Priests. I'm no pvp master but a WP took me and another chosen down solo and never dipped below half health. I assumed he was getting healed from elsewhere but was told later by a WE who was stealthed around the area that he was toaly alone and killing everyone with ease.

Probably using Pots as wells as HoT's.

Have to say from lvl 10 in Tier 1 I never lost a fight 1 v1 on my DoK. Have taken down quite a few duos as well. Not even had a problem with WP's. Except finding them solo. Usually a few WH's close by :)

Running around Tier 2 swamp area at lvl 12 I met a lvl 18 ironbreaker and beat him comfortably finishing on 70% health. I was still running with 17.0 dps swords from tier 1. Looting after killing him I received a lvl 14 sword with 27 dps!

Fun class to play but a tad OP at Tier 1 and 2 levels.

Im a full heal spec Dok (level 28 or 29). Its a good exciting class to play that really makes you think where you should be in the battle. At the front dishing it out, in the middle with your arms aloft like a whopper getting soul essence or at the back healing Black Orcs and backfiring sorcs

While I am here, can you other doks confirm that you hardly ever use talismans (should that be talismen? :p)

Level 30ish and ive forged talismans into 2 swords, a chestpiece and a head piece. That's it.

Havn't found any decent enough talismans to put in yet :)
I suppose when I get to high 30's then I will start using them more, as the gear is likely to be used for longer. Whilst leveling I get more or less a new set of armour every couple of level's.

So maybe DOKs are really meant to be in the back with the support and the makes and be an Anti-Antisupport? :)

But honestly, its sounds like DOK is the only class you have trouble with, and melee - SImple... stay away from them.

I mean how often to you really see the DOKs in the back with mages and healers? I usually find them up front building Healpower...

Actually the first Morale2 attack from Marauder steals away 200AP, and debuff strength with 65 I believe... lucky we are on same team then :D
