Ok... With the imminent server merge and presumably 1.75 patch as its not going to happen before then what will be the state of play.

Will Artifacts go up in price as I predict. I say this for one reason in that unless they change respawn times for ALL artis and ALL drop rates there will be more people camping artis and therefore a much greater demand.

Scrolls I predict to go down in price. This is said not only because of a greater amount of scrolls being readily available on the market but also because of the 1.75 patch notes and the Aerus/Volc scrolls being made easier to farm.

Another thing to consider is the hugh variance in pricing from Mid/Pryd to Mid/Excal. What will happen here I ask. Well for a starter all us rich bums on Mid/Excal are going to have the upper hand from the outset.

This is my opinion and ofcourse only an opinion and prediction.

Whats your thoughts for your own realm....

1) excal whores will run over to mid/pry buy up all the rare gear and put it on their cm's for double.
2) prices will go up to excal standard

US players have already found the changes to the scroll droprates to be utter bs, especially for the aerus scrolls.

The server clustering only links the capital cities and rvr zones, so there will still be a toa zone for each server, ie people on excal can't help on pryd ml raids as they can't get to the zones and so also won't be camping the same artifact spawns

BZZT! Incorrect.

Taken from last week's Friday Reporter:

You would see the same thing in the capital cities where you would also see a new NPC who would allow players to move from one server to another. You could, for instance, visit and buy merchandise from the consignment merchants of the joined server, complete an artifact encounter you cannot find on the Atlantean soil of your home server or even participate in a Master Level step with a guild of the server that is joined to yours. After that, you would just have to come back to this new NPC and return to your server to rejoin your friends and your guild.

The clustering of RvR zones (and, possibly, capital cities) means that there is only one instance of these zones shared by both servers. All other zones are duplicated (ie. one set of ToA zones for Excal, one set for Pryd). However, players on either server can obviously migrate across to participate in events on the other server's zones.

From Friday GOA News

[20-05-2005] The Camelot Reporter

Server clustering
During our former poll concerning clustering the servers, the community was clearly in favour of it. We are thus considering joining the capital cities and RvR zones of 6 servers : English, German and French ones during the move to version 1.75.

Nevertheless through some comments that we received and questions that were asked to the community managers in game, we noticed that it seems that a number of players answered this poll without fully understanding what this clustering exactly implies.

This is why, if you are directly concerned by a possible server clustering - so, if you play on Excalibur, Prydwen, Logres, Lyonesse, Carnac or Orcanie - we invite you to express yourself through a final poll after having carefully read the following summary :

So, what would happen if your server was joined with another ? First, population in the frontier zones would be approximately doubled, thereby multiplying the encounters and the major operations like relic or keep raids. The battlegrounds, Darkness Falls, the Passage of Conflict and the Summoner's Hall are of course part of the affected zones.

You have thus understood, the capital cities and the frontiers would be shared and all players from both servers will meet there. Nevertheless, the clustering of your server with another would give you access to all the zones of this other server by moving from one to the other thanks to the aforementioned NPC.

From reading that it is clear that what they intend to allow people to participate in ML raids, do artifacts, hunt scrolls, buy off CMs on both servers and group with prydwen players. NF, TNN (and I suppose DF) will be common to both servers.

I presume with server clustering there would be a relic and DF reset as well. I haven't seen anything mentioned but it seems to be the only viable option.

give them time blazor.

theyve only had 3 weeks to read and understand the einsteinian complexities of this merge.

and on the pricing subject, I think all the pryd prices will just go up to excal level.

started a few alts on pryd just in-case i want a change later on, the prices are very low on there compared to hib, on albion gov was 25ish plat, on hib excal its near 50 plat. not sure what will happen really, i imagine the prices will settle a few weeks after the clustering goes live.

First of all: There will be 2 camps for each and every arti, so the topic starter uses incorrect information as basis of his guesses. There is no reason to see excal prices going up.

Secound: The 1 hour delay can change a few things and it can affect prices.

sigh..
noone said excal prices would go any higher, it is being said prywden prices will come to excal level.
And there is no delay porting between zones, only switching between chars on diff servers

the fellow in the first post said they'd go up and he's mid/excal ;)

There will be twice as many artifact spawns compared to usual and less than twice the population so prices on excal might drop - prydwen however will probably see a price hike as people on excal will buy anything going at prydwen prices inflating it.

Mid gov went down from 50 to 25p in a matter of weeks

Summoning SM for the win, supply and demand is getting grips on MId/excal market prices and they are dropping

should work out well for all imo twice as many arties should mean that the pirces on both servers should meet in the middle would epect gov to be priced some where in the middle about 30 to 40 plat thats 5 plat increase on 1 server and a 5 to 10 plat drop on the other

the other thing i like is twice as many ml runs :) should be fun for pve

still wounder about rvr i think the might zerg's will be back and i think cross realming even with a 1 hour delay will problem but i have to wait and see

So with only RvR and Captial Cities being merged, will people from alb/excal beable to message people in alb/pry and vice versa within PvE zones?

yes
if you have the same name as someone on the other server you will need to add the server in the pm i.e Jaem.Excaliber or Jaem.Prywden

I think Midgard has crazy prices more so than the other Excal realms. Obscene inflation is the price you pay for wanting DF 24/7 :fluffle:

Feel kinda sorry for the poorer Prydwen players now that the merge has been confirmed.

Dont worry, you cant have more then ~200 plats, more then that
and you cannot carry anymore and ppl cannot buy from your merchant
if you dont cash out the $ from him.

I know this certainly used to be the case, but is it still the case?

Just asking because of this image from another thread:

http://onfinite.com/libraries/484219/c6a.jpg

No reason for Joe to fake/lie about the cash he has in that thread (he's not that kind of guy anyway, I think). Anyone else able to confirm that the 200-and-something cap on plats has been removed?
