Euro Co-Op Server

In my ToA folder I have a file called "coop_rules.txt" so either.

A co-op server is in the pipeline......... or........ more likely, someone was a little slack when converting the USA install to the euro servers and is wasting 1017 bytes on my hard disk.

As for PvE, yes it would be nice. But I doubt it'll ever happen, I guess it'd just be extra stuff for translation so I can hardly blame them really.

There will never be an EU co-op server it seems, GOA just aren't interested in rolling out a new server I guess. What annoys me more that that Mythic never delivered on the much touted 'Home Invasion' servers or the hybrids that they proposed 18 months ago. Personally I would like to see a modified PvP server with PK'ing only allowed in frontiers or zones far from civilisation, then create an incentive for people to exp/farm in the danger zones such as 100% camp bonuses etc for those willing to take the risk.

We've got that on the normal servers, its called a keep bonus

Yep but there are more official roleplay events on EU servers than on the Role Play americans servers.

GOAs comment on that back at release was something along the lines of: all our servers are roleplay servers. That comment seems even more ridiculous now than it did then

The point of a co-op server would be to be able to group with people from all realms, explore every part of the game, and not have to constantly look over your shoulder in case someone decides you look like tasty RPs or just want to kill you for the heck of it.

But... zones far from civilisation?

Gifv 'Allegiance' [sp] server

Basically you get the 'Choose Realm' screen twice...once to choose your characters realm and then again to choose your realm Allegiance.

So its still realm vs realm but alb [for example] could be made up on trolls luris and britons etc etc.

Obviously it brings problems with epic quests...but i guess you can just tag the 'similar' Guild Houses together ...Way of Stealth to the Guild of Shadows...Way of Light to Acadmey etc etc. They then do the quests for the realm they are in. Couple of new trainers in each area.


Also this would 'hopefully' balence the realms out...as people can pick and choose their class and realm.

So its kinda co-op mixed with regular RvR...i think it would work but would take some effort on the mythic side to get quests working in the other two realms.

But i like the idea myself...gifv feedback!

Yup i like the sound of a co-op server, guess im more of a PvE person than PvP. player vs player just causes so many game balance issues, the rush to get that uber toon before anyone else, maybe EQ2 will be more my thing.

Only way it would happen would be if there was enough cash, so more players.... more cash.. chance of co-op.. the state of RvR the last few months, id rather be on a PvP server
