So I had Ethereum before the DAO hard fork, question, do I have ETC coins on an old address lying around somewhere? Or were they converted to Ethereum?

Yes. However much ETH you held when the hard-fork took place, you have the same amount of ETC (somewhere).

That is what I don't understand, I have my original addresses but cannot find any ETC on them.

It'd have to be a hell of a lot to make hunting down the wallet worth it... 1 ETH is ~140x the value of 1 ETC right now.

I am not fussed about the ETC just annoyed that it should be somewhere but I cannot find it, you know, like how you know you have a spare battery for your keyfob but cannot find it.

I have a Ledger Nano S and a X. The X is much better and has more memory to hold applications.

I use Kraken but if you prefer Coinbase use the Pro exchange as it has cheaper fees.
