I think you misintepretted my post.

I don't go everywhere with my missus lol. I meant why is going out on the town with the lads not possible in a relationship? The only difference is you come home and have sex with your missus at 3-4am in the morning as opposed to waking up in some random girls bed at 8-9am the next morning ))

Seriously though, there's good and bad in single and relationships. It's a personal choice of one or two people, as paradoxal as it may sound.

You can't do everything in a relationship, you can't do everything single.

Nvmd my point there, i was assuming she went everywhere with you (something of which it looked like you instigated in a prior point). What i see from my mate is having to get permission to go out from his missus, at 18, that makes me lol.

Seriously though, there's good and bad in single and relationships. It's a personal choice of one or two people, as paradoxal as it may sound.

You can't do everything in a relationship, you can't do everything single.

Of course you can't. However it is possible to have what you might see as a a 'life' whilst with your partner. The best thing about being with the one you know you're going to be with for a long time (I won't use the term 'forever' as it's a little sycophantic for some) is that you both know your own spaces etc. even when you have children.

Myself and my wife work at the same place (albeit in separate departments and so we don't see each other all day) and yet we can share anecdotes of the day and such. We both go out separately when we want to and act like knobs (at least I do) and come home and everything is fine.

The point seems to be whether you want to be in that one relationship. Some do, some don't. I fucking love what me and the wife have and I wouldn't change it for the world. Exactly the same as I see people who are just happy to be single. Swings and rounabouts.

Seriously?

Big brother?
Public transport?
The royal family?
The government?
Chavs?
Bad roads?
Bad education?
The result of bad education?

What's not to love!?

To be fair though, you've got easy women.

I'd like to counter a bit here. All countries breed what I like to think of as Twatism. Big Brother (started with the Dutch btw), transport issues, governments and chavs.

Other points I will argue:

Most nations still, for some bizarre reason look up to royal families, and we have the longest lineage of all, no matter how inbred they are, so we have the premier royal family in the world.

Our road network isn't as bad as is made out, it was just designed before the car numbers tripled in 40 years. Most other 'good' networks have the space to expand, the UK doesn't. There's fuck all we can do about that, we're densely populated and we have to deal with it.

The UK still has an education envied by most nations, we have an employment retention in higher education that most nations would like for themselves. Even at further education levels we're doing well.

I tend to avoid looking into a well-meaning yawning equine's mouth and offering dental floss if you get my point.

Pfft, nothing wrong with our road networks... at least not our motorways. But then, my grandad was involved in the motorway system so I'm kind of biased ;)

The Danish royal family is one of the oldest reigning dynasties in the world, second only to that of the Japanese emperors.

would i get a decent rock for 200

Haven't read all of the posts (sorry!) but you could get something decent for that money if you were to head to a manufacturing jewellers, and not just look at retail outlets.

No idea where you are in the world, but if you are in the UK you could do worse than head to the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. I took my former intended around there and identified lots of nice rings which would cost twice as much in retail outlets.

Whether or not she'll be happy with a £200 one is debatable, but I hope so. Mine started looking at that range but in the end wanted one that was going to cost £1,000. Considering this was 13 years ago I could have bought a small country for that sum. So I decided it might be best to buy one, move there and dump her.

Did the last bit anyway.

My mistake though, you're probably right there - the Japanese in their isolationist state probably are yonks older than others. 535 seems the first date.

I suppose it depends on meaning. I used the phrase 'lineage' as in tracing family. A dynasty is apparently a family, but your own royal family website claims later than ours:

The Danish Monarchy - History - The Royal Lineage

The current reigning monarch of England, Elizabeth II can be, by family, traced back to Alfred the Great (crowned 871). That beats your Gorm fella.

I guess in Royal Olympics we get the silver medal and you the bronze.

Personally I think you are to young. I would like to see the answers to some of Ch3ts questions.

Because until you have spent a month waking up in the same bed, sharing the same bathroom and fighting for the toilet. You aint experienced a relationship at all. Are you comfortable burshing your teeth while she's curling one out on the bog?

The reason the divorce rate is so high is because tools get engaged at 16 to show their comittment to some skanky 15 year old who's been on more cock than a breeding horse. They have no real idea about love, comittment or a relationship. Until you have had a fight about putting rubbish in the bin, instead of on the bench you aint experienced shit :p

Go ahead though and get engaged I am sure it will give you an experience that you can look back on when you do it for real when your about 28 :p

Seriously Laddey, UK prices for Jewellery are stupidly high. Your better off buying a long weekend in Italy, buying the ring there and you will have saved money. The Yanks say you should spend 3 months salary on an Engagement Ring.

Or wait and go to South Africa for the World Cup. Buy the Diamond/Gem there about 1/4 of the price charged in UK.

I have lots of friends who come visit and stay with us in Dubai, They always buy their bling here becuase it is about 1/3 of the UK prices.

Killarien, ofcourse relationship doesn't limit things, but at same time, you can't say you can do everything you want.

Just facts of life, but i do believe we agree :D

On the UK bit, it was simply a joke, not meant as serious points.

Now about girls and rocks, as the original topic was about. she need to make a pimp decision;

Agree whole heartedly, if the missus is home/with you, those couples either stay home watching movies and snuggling or leave the pub at 1am, 2am tops :D

God you lot go on....and on...and on. Doom and gloom:(

Laddey -If you love her and you want to give her a ring. You go for it.

Dont listen to this bunch of miserable old F**KERS;)

I'm sure if you go on a serious hunt you will find something that is perfect for her and she will be really chuffed.

My ring was ridiculously expensive but that has no bearing on my relationship whatsoever - I just have to pay more insurance.
You pay what you can afford and she will cherish it:)

I wanted to make sure he had the right reasons for doing it, I only know one couple out of about 10 that has survived an engagement from that age.

they all thought they were in love and the happiest they could be, but they did not consider what they were getting in to.

Laddey, even if you do not post your answers here, think long and hard about the few questions I asked -and talk to her before buying anything, make sure she feels the same, and has the same outlook for the next 10 years or so.

As a few people have said there are better ways to show a commitment, in your position I would say try and commit to moving in together first. You've only just got a job, and cannot have that much cash saved up. Saying you want to get a place with her within one year for example, shows a hell of a lot more commitment that buying a ring that costs you less than a months takings.

Don't scare him with such popostorious(sp?) thoughts!

Though he does miss out on the good side of waking up the next day and realising you've done the minger, worse though, mate of mine ended up pulling some 40 yr old. Priceless :D

It's a fact though heh, all these 'we will be together forever' couples who get engaged/married at such a young age 9 times out of 10 fall apart.
