Yes elected politicians should be held at a higher moral standard than average joe, abso-fucking-lutely.

Your average joe can be sacked for having a relationship with a subordinate, the PM is kinda like the tippiest toppiest top job, no?

Very uncomfortable with that list, which lumps together the activities of consenting adults with obvious abuses in one list. The only point of collating it that way is to make an overall moral judgement on the Tories as a group. I detest the Tories but this has nothing to do with their political incompetence.

And by the way, the average joe shouldn't be sacked for having a relationship with a subordinate; the whole trend is based on very suspect thinking.

It's obvious trolling don't bother with it. It's like peak Toht recently.
Or I (and @DaGaffer ) don't think who-fucked-who has any bearing on suitability of our leaders.

Bojo had loads of kids by different people. The stories about that didn't hold him back because it's nobodies business who he wants to hide his sausage with.

I would say it depends, if they were campaigning on some sort of morality, family values, nuclear family, bullshit like they do in US, then yeah i would consider it problematic. But since it clearly is not stopping them from stabbing each other in the back (or the front hurhur) i dont think it matters much

None of our parties campaign on a "sexual morality" ticket. Mainly because in post-religious Blighty it would lose them way more votes than they'd gain in sky-fairy lovers.

Austerity is back big and hard then. And now they're refusing to back the "triple lock" on pensions.

They're coming for your retirement funds people - because they can't cut services back any more than they have done.

Still. Nearly a quarter of people still intend to vote Tory. And that will grow before the next General Election. Even though the real Tory party is now the Labour party.

Turns out Thick Lizzy was in fact meeting with Sir Graham Brady yesterday, after which she looked absolutely fucked, either genuine shock or sedated (maybe the bloated mess of a health secretary had a look in her handbag for some downers) She is PM in job title only.

Slight problem with that is when she was supposed to be in a meeting with Graham Brady he was sat there in the Commons...oops.

Apparently, not through the entire session. He reportedly left early.

Aaaanyway.

How are mortgage folk feeling right now, still True blue Tory? @Bodhi

By an absolute stroke of luck and to this day, I have no idea why I did it, but I set the ball to remortgage back in April, the day before interest rates went up the first time even though our fixed rate wasnt up until this month. Got an offer the same day of 1.08% fixed for 5 years. I seriously dont know what we would have done if we had waited until now. We would have been well and truly fucked and I feel for all the people trying to remortgage now

Just be aware that when you come to the end of your fixed term the jump may be even higher from your current interest rate to the one in 5 years time.

So the threshold is 54, he has more than that but will need 33% (~120) rather than 50% to call the vote.

I find it funny that they keep having to find new people, scumbags, to compare Liz Truss approval rating.

Got to laugh how she keeps trying to attack Keir on the Unions and getting no where really.

I found it particularly amusing that a conservative MP had the balls to call labour part of a coalition of chaos i mean some self awareness please
