I haven't used ebay for nearly two years now, I've got no email linked to it anymore.

It's the worst place to buy or sell; the scams make it a minefield, you have a 50/50 chance of someone screwing you over. Then ebay eat all your profit, and make more money via paypal.

Gumtree and playtrade, amazon marketplace are the tools to use right now.
Gumtree is owned by eBay FWIW.

So? Unless you have a company account there, it's free to list. They don't take commissions.

Indeed they don't but you're still supporting eBay by using them.
"Oh yeah, those feckin eBay turds and their commissions, I'll go use their other site instead! that'll show them!"

I rarely sell on ebay, but I buy quite a bit of crap off it. There are some bargains, but I tend to only use highly-rated sellers and read feedback and such. I have been reamed for Ebay fees on a couple of sales (PRS Guitar, Marshall stack, Alter Bridge tickets) but for buying it's still pretty good.
