Then I'll ask wtf you think people don't understand about a half-caste kid? If you were goddamn purple with green stripes and flourescent yellow eyes, then maybe it'd be a case of people fearing what they don't understand... We're not in the bloody middle ages any more, racism may not be dead but it's pretty damn rare in people our generation, at least in populous, non-'redneck' areas ;p
Furthermore, I would contend that racism and pretty much any form of bigotry or prejudice are in fact responding on an "animal", uncivilised level to a fear of the not-understood, so tbh while I can't see how you think they're being afraid of you, I would say that that makes em racist pretty-much.
On the other hand, unless you've played/practised football with the whole of both teams having exactly the same skin-tone and ethnic background as you, and they all tackled noticably more gently, then I'd say you're probably just inventing that rubbish :p

btw ur right, I get diffrent reactions, its not a fear that you'd call when you see somthin and u dont wanna go near it, its a small thing inside that i can pick up but i know it doesnt make that person a racist, you could say they are unsure, if they've never spoken to a darker person they would be unsure how to go about things i reckon becoz i would be tbh and who wouldnt ?

And once again you completely miss the point. OK I've said it before in this thread but you still don't seem to understand so I'll say it again. YOU ARE NOT! A FUCKING ALIEN. I'm pretty sure that you were imagining they were tackling you harder because you were being self-concious while you were playing with them. To say that people don't understand someone because their skin colour is different is untrue and stupid at best.

Uhm, I don't think anyone's natural reaction to meeting a person of different skin tone would be particularly hesitant, unless you'd never ever encountered the concept of black people before. As in, never seen them on TV and so on... but I think that's pretty rare, look at how many non-caucasian sports, TV and film celebrities there are. I really don't understand how anyone in their teens or older could have difficulty talking to a person of different skin colouration...
Anyhow, maybe I'm wrong and people are still 'naturally' unsure how to talk to people from different backgrounds - although your typical black kid from london isn't exactly a different background from your average white kid in london ;)

btw, racism isnt rare, look at the situation in America, its becoming a crisis there, they are just good at keeping it down to a low profile.
In the Uk it isnt that bad i must admit, I was called a ni**er by some lads when i was on the train with my m8s but they where just lookin for trouble, if I was white with red hair they would of called me a ginger so i just let it slip.

yeah well being called names like that doesnt effect me, i just think they r pathetic was just the way i was brought up, if they try to touch me or whatever thats a diffrent matter.

btw Dill, u might of got the wrong end of the stick, i dont see myself as an alien, i fit in pritty well actually and i've never had a problem in doing so :)
