Errr... "muahahaha"

That deal has been going for ages. The Wharfedale DVD player is very 'average'.

The wharfedale is, in fact, a very respectable bit of kit for the money (check out reviews on it). The ability to play DVDs from any region makes it a winner.

...a little later. I've pasted some details below..

-->> beginning of copy

DVD-750 wins 'Budget DVD Player of the Year' (Home Cinema Choice).

It's always nice to be acknowleged, and the latest award for our first DVD player is an accolade indeed. The 750 has now featured in Hi-Fi News, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, The Daily Mail, Total DVD, What TV& Video, What Hi-fi, Stuff, Home Entertainment and a whole host of TV programmes. Watch out for forcoming reviews in Empire and T3

The good news is that more are on their way. Although Most Tesco stores are now out of stock from the last shipment, Stores should be back in stock early June. The Tesco helpline number is 0800 505555.

The players are in fact due in Tesco stores from May 19th (so it says on the wharfedale site).

Tescos are also selling a nice little Wharfedale 'Discman type' portable CD player for £20.

Luckily my store has had one of those in since the beginning of May, just before we closed to start moving - Only a demo peice of kit, because we are wharfedale specalist dealers, but we have got them on backorder (Only because we havent exactly got a shop at the minute :) )

TUG: I was merely commenting on the non-exclusivity of the deal. I used average in its proper sense: ie not brilliant, but not shit by any means either.

I also favour spending money on hardware over software. ie, imo, if you're going to be spending £15/20 on each DVD, lets say you've got 20 DVDs, that's close to £400. So you might as well spend that little bit extra on the player to get the most out of that £400 investment. Similarly, I can't understand the people who regularly buy PC games for £40, but think that spending a fair bit on a decent monitor isn't worth it.

Still, each to their own.
