Yes, that's a super price. Stainless steel so if you ever get a job in a canteen you can wipe it clean and make a good impression on the dinner ladies.

Normally I'd look for either digital out connectors or a built-in decoder, but you have both in this one. You could take the phonos and put them into a separate wireless speaker set in a 'nother room for roaming, wire-free listening.

Although personally I'd prefer a DVD-player that uses the Nuon processor so I can play Tempest 3000.

As good a price as it is it'll no doubt go up a lot before the end.

My dvd has digital outs, I was really only considering this so I could buy a cheap non 5.1 amp, but I might just wait another year or two, bound to be tons around for less than £100 by then.

Just buy an AV amp you skinflint!

A decent mid-range one costs about £150-250 these days.

That player only has decoders built in and not an amplification for that output to drive the speakers..

To get 5.1 sound out you still need a 5 discrete channel amp which would cost more than a dedicated AV amp!
