Duels: lame wankers

Let me just explain, you do not have any buffs except your own during duels whatsoever.

Lamers = Jawz, Tiki, Wrathofsauron, Battlerager - these guys all clearly want to win and farm RPs, and not duel honourably at all.

And btw the only honourable person so far i fought without buffs was Teza, /salute

About duels.

Many players have been wondering what was the official stance of the event team regarding duels. In order to answer this question, we need to clarify what is hiding behind this simple word; duel.

- The unexpected duel, one versus one, leading to the death of the escape of one of the two fighters.
- The organised duels with “healer” classes, able to bring back to life slain players.

In the first case, it is an honourable (or not so honourable) duel, with which we have no problem as long as it is unplanned and exceptional.

In the second case however, we face an alteration of the game, allowing players to do what we call “RP farming”, the act of “farming” realm points doing many “controlled” duels and sparing the healing classes. For such situations, we will not take direct sanctions against the players even if it is an alteration of the Gameplay. However, do not be surprised if your whole party is slaughtered by wandering guards, friendly jousts have no place when there is realm war going on!

And that is exactly my point. Don't expect me to be fair. I hate duels and if I see you guys duel I will make sure to mess up the party for at least someone.

I arried late on the duels, duelled twice.. first was a damn nice fight with novamir.. after that I got ganked down by some1 uberbuffed.. every since that Ive been trying to stop this by hitting every1 along with a few others but ppl are so hooked on farming rp like hell that its almost impossible..

its so damn lame. Ive duelled before and I prefer draw back in the end (ergo no rp farming coz no kill)
and ofc unbuffed and ungrouped

but this today is PURE rp farming... call it what u want and call me lame, but its in direct violation of goa's policies. all duelling is.. but this is pushing it too far!

Haha lamed buffed guys...

Last time Wuren was supposed to duel Wrathofwhatever...

He comes with a healer and his buffbot (green shamy named "likemybuffs"...

He gets buff, we kill shamy then sit again. Healer resses shamy, rebuff, we kill it again then sit again, we point to the shamy, etc... Hoping he'd get a clue.

Well after some time he just legs it leaving that poor healer alone. We were so pissed that we ganked the poor dorf (who was maybe the only nice guy around, but well we're barbarians, bith mids and hibs so you can understand).

Nice display I say, got my definitive idea of wrathofleggit being a sad git that day (besides having a liking for ridiculous names).

As for those coming over and over with what GOA said, 2 things:

Had very nice duels and lots of them in Odin's last time. Got no rps and so didn't my opponents cause we stopped all duel before death. So it's for fun and everyone there is having fun and agreeing to it. As for people that seem to think we found a fast and easy way to make rps... hmm best way I found is still to find a good group and run along in emain, even if we dueled to death, fighted non stop and if I wasn't loosing any fight (which is far from being the case actually) I don't see how you could make more rps than a good group can get you in a small time. I you realyl so focused about rps, buy a bow and learn to stealth.

As for what GOA says, well GOA said also "we aim to patch abotu 2 weeks after US patching dates"
Seriously I can understand rules against cheating, griefing, event obstruction and offensive names/languages but I'm not ready to be told how to play unless they're ready to be told more about how to run their servers.

Wrathofabadger is the biggest lamer on excal period, you don't deserve shit of all those RPs u got from ganking people at the end of duels, using buffs in duels, etcetc.

Troll Elding Vakten, well we all know how you managed to get there, plenty of lame farming behaviour I'll bet...

good duels were with Sub (wtf i missed 5x slam), murbank, lots of others..shame it had to be spoiled

people who aren't buffed were honourable i didnt have a buff for the whole fights, and only once with a proc killed some1

Well i was there and DID NOT Duel anyone simply becuase a green con could out melee me as a Bard but anyway i was messing around with Aussie /wave /laugh some slams and mezzes etc etc when i see Sub Run Straight over to Aussie and kill him within 3 hits then Run off as if none would see him...

That sort of thing Spoils things for me.

Aslong as the duels are keept away from main RvR grounds Im ok with it, and ppl are free to be lameasses and kill every1 cuz they pay for daoc, same as the duelers do.
and b4 any1 tells me about RvR bla bla bla
Zerging Emain and farm rp's 24/7 are BORING!!!!! period
ppl need a break away from it. Duels are fun ( most of the time ) and thats why I play DaoC....

and buffs in duels ? lol only used by ppl afraid to lose...

u can say what u want but it was still fun

had some very nice duels with some ppl (korv, iriba, tiki, snakeeyes, murbank, tdaer, and many more..)

my apologies to everyone i killed, i tried to back off mostly but i cant stop the poison, and fighting without poison is stupid cuz it lowers my damage output alot ;/
if it makes u feel better, almost nobody spared me, doesnt bother me too much tho

and to those mids who ganked me at the end instead of fighting 1 on 1, harall and 2 others, shame on u ;/

there were a few people only there for rp's .
sub being one of them :moo: . he was running around in a small grp killing all peeps sat down low on hp after disengaging after a duel .
most the people dueling WERE backing of before death of somebody "/salute" . shame some losers cant just let people fight and back of when somebody is clear winner . got a bit laggy nearer the end cos there was TO many peeps there .

to those who backed of and not farming rps /salute .

to those who purpossly killed oponent for the rps i give a big fat

Also, why was a green scout running around killing all the little grey cons that were watching?

I didnt run around in a small team, we were 2 ppl, and a few followed the lead.
I didnt kill ppl with low hp and resting only, those were just fast and easy targets so why not, I only came to kill those who were there... I said that on irc on #celticfist and to those who PM'ed me about it both on irc and ingame and I said it in /gu and I said it on /as in the end to get more ppl to help since we werent getting anywhere on our own.

so stop crying, most of u there had been farming for 3 hours if not more, and the only reason u whine like little kiddies is because u were planning on earning atleast a few more Ks before it ended. u payed the price of being friendly in a very large group of enemies and u can flame me all u want and cry ur heart out it wont help a thing.

keep in mind that I never agreed to be friendly and fair, thats another price u pay for those huge duels, it amazes me that it even continued for that long.
