Well, if they have one giant firewall that filters the whole country, it's a safe bet they block ports that would be used to share data also. There is a P2P esque network called 'Freenet'; I've not looked at it for about a year, however i remember there were issues with the Chinese government blocking the freenet website

There were several Chinese news Freesites on freenet though, so i guess at that point at least, it wasn't being blocked...

anyhoo, I found out that the "technical-issue" stuffe is really a ruse to buy time to get you to sign the contract and mail it to them etc. etc. before they do any real installing and things heh.
