So being critical of someones moral philosophy should lead to death threats and violence.
Cool story bro.
again since you and many others clearly missed the pointMy question is, why not? If they want to be unreasonable over a picture then that's their problem.
.
Its besides the point anyway. They are offended by any picture, whether drawn in an offensive way or not.
It's not different.
Do you think people that draw on "draw mohammed" day are going to draw any picture, depict in good light? No, they are out to make fun, for a greater distress to the other party.
No, probably not (I haven't actually looked as its not really very funny) Its a protest to point out the absurdity of it all. While /b/ idiots will have no doubt got involved, the point stands. Why should a religion dictate what I can and can't do? Especially when I have no relationship with that religion. There are religions that find homosexuality, or sexual relationships outside of marrage a sin (Islam being one) Does that mean we should stop that in case it offends them?
Sorry no, some crack pot religion is not going to dictate how I live my life or what I do, if my lifestyle or actions offend them then that's their problem not mine. Especially when its something at trivial as a bloody picture.
Then again Ravens mother doesnt force the fanny law upon people or kill people in the name of her fanny now does she?
If this "draw mohammed" day didn't happen, would you be forced to lose rights? No. Would you have a right to draw mohammed if you chose to? Yes. No one but your own government can take that away.
You need that perspective of yours now and listen;
If this "draw mohammed" day didn't happen, would you be forced to lose rights? No. Would you have a right to draw mohammed if you chose to? Yes. No one but your own government can take that away.
You have a right to live your life as you please, but you don't have the right to deliberately offend people hiding behind that freedom.
The moment you choose to act like a dick because you have freedom, that freedom should be taken away.
The picture seems trivial, to other people it's not. Drawing it benefits no one, as you said it's not even funny. This day doesn't benefit anyone, it just offends.
So, the question remains, do you think this day is a good idea?
And yes I do think its a good thing, it points out how utterly retarded they are for getting upset over picture of Mohammed (even a peaceful non offensive picture)
The benefit is showing how dumb people react over a drawing. Aslong as people get offended in such a manner over some picture, it is worth pulling their strings.
500 years ago you'd be burned in Europe over the same drawing about christ, today you'll hardly get noticed. Thats the point.
Madonna also hang on a burning cross on stage. To prove a point and make a statement.
So you think it's a good idea, to force your opinions and ways of life on them?
Now isn't that just the thing you're fighting against?
They aren't threatening your way of life, yet you saction it ok to attack theirs with this day?
Did that change happen over time, or by someone having a draw jesus day 500 years ago?
The benefit you claim, to show how stupid people are, is quite the opposite. You are showing how petty and vindictive you are, by organising a day JUST to make fun of another group of people.
None of you see anything wrong with it, yet you wonder why others can act so stupid. Could it be, that on the other side of fence, they see nothing wrong in changing YOUR way of life?
I want to draw a picture but i'm not allowed.
You want to draw a picture but I don't allow you, because it offends me.
Who does what here?
The sanction is not beeing allowed to draw what you want. That in itself is a threat on peoples way of life.
It happend over time, by people people who drew pictures of Jezus (in a certain context). This is why you have the freedom to draw (and do) what you want when you want it this day. Else we'd be still burning people.
So because i say to you, "i don't like you drawing a picture", that's a threat on your way of life and you must act accordingly and change, and at best remove my way of life?
Bit insecure i think, not to mention "nuke first, ask questions later" mentality.
What do you do if someone says "I don't like your shirt", punch them?
But it didn't happen due to insults and mockery. Maybe that's something you should consider when advocatnig for religious purification.

People are beeing killed over it or are threaten to be killed over it, so yeah i'd say thats a threat on my way of life.
It's not nuke first, ask questions later mentality. It's I can draw whatever I want mentality, because thats the freedom I have.
The shirt is a nice point. What would happen if my shirt would have mohammed on it?
It did happen to insults and mockery. Guess you really never looked at art from the last 500 years or went to see a comedian l8tly?
erm. Actually I am defending my way of life. I am free to draw a picture of Mohammed if I want to, the same way I am free to take it up the bum, If I want to. the same way I am free to have sex with however I please. If we all stopped doing anything because its offensive to someone we would not get anywhere.
You're not being denied to draw a picture. No threat to that.
My fucking god. Yes people are. That's the whole fucking point.
>>>>>***** ANY *****<<<<< picture of Mohammed is forbidden and people have received death threats because they drew a picture of Mohammed.
You're not being denied to draw a picture. No threat to that.
Do you think drawing more pictures will change the mind of the people who want to kill you over it? Didn't think so.
So there's no threat and there's no point in the day, except as said before, ridicule from the sanctuary of internet. More fo the moronity that is the internet, nothing more.
The shirt was a good point, but it's not your point so answer it or leave it.
The change didn't happen DUE to mockery and insults, there being mockery and comedians doesn't mean it's the cause.
Oh, guess i missed the part where it's a law now that you can't draw a picture of mohammed in the UK.
