- People drink underage already, how would raising the limit stop it? It'd only mean they start slightly later.
- Fake ID's are common as muck.
- Does anybody even carry ID? I got served the other night despite being asked for ID and having none.
- People just won't bother asking for ID. I've probably been ID'd less than half a dozen times and I know for a fact one place did it just to annoy me because they knew I never carried ID.

Meh, i've been ID'd for ordering a coke at 19 when the girl next to me was 16 and ordering alcohol wasn't asked for a thing, supposing she had two reasons not to be asked though.

Depends where you go Mank. In Croydon they ID everyone no matter how old they look on Fridays-Sunday nights, only driving liscense or passport accepted. Thats all the clubs and most of the pubs. 21 would mean less idiots in clubs. Works for me.

I think the key is for clubs and bars to take responsibility for people drinking in their venues. Has anyone actually seen people refused to be served because they were too drunk?

I don't go to clubs much as I find they make my rather angry, but I've never been ID'd in a club nor have I ever seen anyone get ID'd in a club - presumably because no one has a clue what anyone is saying I guess. That's around Oxford - student central - though.

As for refusing to serve drunks, my mate runs a club in Brighton and he certainly refuses to serve anyone who is too drunk and has kicked out some mates I was with before on that basis. Anyway, I don't think it's the alcohol that causes the problem, it's the drugs.

And I can say for one too, i've never been refused service at a bar yet even when i've had to hold myself up by grasping the bar, I'd say I can (sort of) remember at least 5 separate occasions this year where i've been like that, wide pupils and the works and the bar staff still serve me spirits.
