steady there mister. spiderman is one of the oldest and longest running comic book heroes out there. If you remember the old 70's episodes then this is an amazing leap forward. Check out the trailer. If this is what the new Marvel/Sony consortium has in store for us then all the better.

You may be all 'sad sad ppl' and all grown up and ting but comics in general kick ass. I hate all this 'its just for kids crap' cos its not. Comics contain a phat amount of imagination, humour and entertainment.

Loosen up.

Films rock, comics rock. Its all good.

when I was younger I used to read the wolverine comics, man they were cool, he didn't just rip robots apart like he does in the cartoons, he actually cut people up. The weapon X saga (wolverines origins) saw a naked Logan escaping from a top secret government lab by hacking his way through armed guards (there's one bit where he is actually stood on a pile of dead bodys, and its a big ass pile, finishing off some poor boke who ran out of ammo) he eventually finds the guy who captured him and cuts both his hands off.
Definately not for children.

To be honest I can't remember how old I was, I think it was when I was in sixth form just before college when I hung around with my Art studying friends and drew things out of warhammer and 2000AD comics, the wolverine comics were new and had cool pictures to copy.
I was supposed to be studying A level science and advanced business and finance though

I just watched the trailer and it looks shit :////

The main problem with comic adaptations to the big screen is they are never ultra-violent or stylish enough, and end up being crap :(

Batman was shit (only saving grace was Jack Nicholson)

Spawn was shit

Spiderman looks shit

X-Men was shit

Actually, scratch the bit about the violence. Blade was violent, and that was fucking awful as well :/

Oh, for a decent adaptation

xmen and spawn really were shit, but the games side also reflects this aswell with batman platform games and xmen fighting games, oohhhh no, i need my pills again, these damn poor games just kill me

The Crow.

Forget the sequels (oh please forget the sequels :)) but a truly fantastic film. Deep, moving, superb soundtrack, goth-heaven :)

Rest in peace Brandon...

X-men was an 'ok' film. But I can't say I favoured it because it seemed to completely dismiss the entire plotline from the very start of the comics. The development of characters in the film was entirely different to the comic, which sucked, it was like having the same characters in a different reality :/

(Rogue without [marvel?] woman's powers sucks)

:/

Roll on spiderman :)))

Adaptions would really work much better if they followed a plotline of the comic precisely. They were always written fantasticly, and the storyboards are already in place :)

Batman was quite good actually, nice and dark and real moody. Not as good as the comics, agreed - but certainly up to standard.

Blade was fucking great, kept all the style and polish to it.

The Crow was fucking brilliant, too.

I have to say, the Spiderman film (from what I've seen of the teaser trailer - which isn't much) looks fucking awful. Very clever trailer, and quite a surprise the first time you see it if you see it without any knowlegde of what it could be. Despite that though, it really does look poo.

I thought X-Men was a decent film, it managed to get away with a 12 rating yet showed believable fight scenes. Tomb Raider by comparison had awful action fighting sequences. X-Men had an impressive cast, Hugh Jackman is a viable Clint Eastwood clone, and you cant argue with Halle Berry or Rebecca Romijn-Stamos in a skin-tight costume.

I think the way the difference between 12 and 15 rating works is you cannot show humans actually hitting humans. You can show someone swinging a fist, then cut to someone falling backwards as if hit, but the actual impact is not allowed in the same shot. Hitting animals, monsters, and other non-humanoids, including robots, is fine for a 12, and even a PG sometimes, but if you want to go below 15 rating you need to cut some stuff out.

The pressure on movie makers to make a comic related movie still get a 12 rating means they cut short on the action and fighting sequences, without good direction the movie can easily get totally ruined. I read somwhere that Tomb Raider was censored for UK showing.

Blade just forgot about ratings, it was one of the better films.

I'm a sucker for all the comic book stuff, I'll go see it anyway

Personally I would have preferred them OUT of the skin tight costume.

Agree that X-Men was an OK movie.
Blade was excellent imho - all depends what your taste is.

Havent seen any of the new Spiderman movie trailers but I was brought up in the era of SPiderman, X-men and Batman.

Wait to see if it delivers up to expectation.
