Like Cho, I don't share their opinion, but I'll support their right to express their opinion.

In a way yes, they have a good point to make by the lack of appreciation for being British, more to the fact of the Labour government surrendering our laws to Brussels amd seemingly letting every ethic minority have a say, at the discrimination of the British people.

But I disagree with using violence as a way of protesting. Make a proper political party, like the BNP, and see how many support you.

The EDL have certain points I agree with as a Brit, such as capital punishment for rapists, murders and paedophiles and the reintroduction of National Service(albeit for people who take the piss out of the policing system, mug old ladies etc).

Maybe the EDL has formed as white, working class people have become disillusioned with labour(myself included, I wont be voting labour ever again). Maybe they have joined due to the lack of Englishness in parliament/parliamentary policies(why cant English people get free uni, like Scotland).

Who knows?

At the end of the day, people WILL vote for the "extremist" parties when they become fed up of all the bullshit of the "normal" parties. Its a democracy, the major parties should then think "oh fuck, we better start listening to those voters who choose to support such parties, because we clearly are fucking up somewhere"

They have a right to a voice and opinion but since they actively oppress people through physical violence, threats and even burning someones houses down they can foad. They are outright racists.

Fortunately wherever they go UAF will follow

I agree something needs to be done before being English is frowned upon even more but i cant support what seems to be Football Hooligans all getting together to start trouble.

Although a small part of me wishes they had been then when the Muslims were protesting the soldiers coming home as i very much wanted them to get a slap.

So... you want people to be able to express their opinions

Provided they match your own

Are you surprised?

You can see it with many people on these forums too, personal example;

I disagree with someone on a matter, sooner or later it turns to "you're arguing for arguings sake".
I agree with that person on another matter, that disagrees with others, there's no problem :D

Most of Europe countries have one of this type of parties / groups:

- France - Front Nationale (LePen's party)
- Italy - La Destra (Right Party) or Azione Sociale (Mussolini grandaughter's party)
- Spain - Falange Expañola
- Austria - Austria Liberal Party
- Holland - Lijst Pim Fortuyn (Pim Fortuyn List)

to mention a few.

Dunno about England's but all of the above share the same fascist / neo-fascists / ultraconservative roots, some of them with links to football "hooliganishm" and street juvenile violence

The worrying thing is that it seems some of them are getting more and more suport in their countries (see Austria or France)

The issue of immigration has been swept under the carpet for years, dare to criticise the policy on it and you get branded a racist by hand wringing lefties. Its no wonder these sort of groups exist, the fascist, anti fascist movement will do anything to silence people who don't agree with their point of view, like any lefty they are complete hypocrites who are no better than the scum bags in the EDL.
I agree with some of what they say, their way of getting their point across is wrong and counter productive to their cause though but until people start to actually listen to what they say then this sort of thing will continue.

In a democracy we should listen to everyones opinion, not just those that fit into our own personal view.

Indeed, not all of them have hooligans in their ranks. Afaik, LPF is more like LePen`s or Haider's parties. Which leads me to assume, in the past they stepped up from semi-fascists/ultraconservative asociations to a serious contender party in general elections :(

Oh jesus, no wonder they get votes when people believe the hype.

I meant have a party and put people up for local/general elections.

I am not condoing the actions of the BNP, but they at least are expressing there views in a democratic way.

By saying that, you're insinuating that immigration is a problem.

Why do you feel it is a problem?

A lot of what the media call "Middle England" have essentially had enough of minority groups being pandered to at the expense of society as a larger whole.

Immigration has become a political hot potato in the UK and part of the problem has been the Government's refusal to discuss policy in a rational way. Anyone who criticises immigration policy is either branded racist, fascist or extremist. In that climate, you can't have a reasoned debate about where immigration is working and where it's failing.

The thing is, if that was a white guy, he would be thrown injail for 20 years.

A black/muslim guy? A slap on the wrists.

Doesn't really answer the question;

Would you still support his right to have a political party and say those things? In public forums etc?

You cant offer freedom of speech to 1 and not all so he has the right to say what he want as long as it does not cross the incite racial hatred lines.
