Well I started leveling on alb/excal now. leveling 5 chars at the same time

still, would be interesting to know how the database could be corrupted.

With a desynchronized server and unreliable client/server communication with broken transaction confirmation/clean-up.

That's what I experienced and it led to automatic duping of some items I have traded from one char to an other (some Idols of Sobek).

Now don't ask me how the server went into this mode, as I don't know it and Xalin said he can not say it.

It isn't Mythics job to maintain the euro servers, GoA techs should stay in longer, so you should be saying 'Nice move GoA' Jeez when will peeps get it into their heads that Mythic do NOT maintain the Euro servers.

When things like this happen however, they go home when they can do no more for the day.

I.e. the techs are there for as long as they can be of use. I doubt they'll say "oh, mythic are helping but sodit I'm going home 2 hours early tonight".

folks want exp boost for downtime, I rather prefer RP boost and loot/cash boost as exp alone has little use for me.

Giving everyone gold wouldnt do much good. Atleast not if you are interested in buying stuff from a CM or player. Might get something for your gold if you save it untill after the cluster, im not really up to date with the current prices on excal.

What i would like is a free skill respec for each character. Just like the ones you get when they change a class or ding 20/40. You lose it if you gain another level before activating it.

Something as simple as a HDD error could cause corruption.

For me the noteworthy aspect of all this is not that the server went wrong, which can happen to anyone with noone at fault, but the response from GOA has exposed certain weaknesses (to put it mildly) in their capabilities.

They didn't recognise the situation when it was in its early stages, showing they have little comprehension of the application architecture.

They could develop neither a diagnosis not a prognosis without Mythic hand-holding them, showing they have effectively no 3rd line support capability.

The one thing that is completely in their control and capability - their communication with us - has been entirely inadequate and demonstrated no comprehension of how to provide quality customer service.

It's not surprising to me that GOA manage to maintain their place as Euro provider of DAoC - the complexity and cost of changing would generate huge inertia on the issue for Mythic - but it IS galling. It's so depressing to realise that your service provider has so little professional pride.

I was outlining the fact that GoA run these servers not Mythic, i know that GoA are staying as long as possible, and also understand that GoA staff probably have a family to attend to and their job is from certain time to time, a thanks is in order, it's nobodys fault that some files corrupted, it can happen big deal. Life comes before computers any day, hope people realise that.
Just let GoA do what they have to do (some of you are) the rest go out and breathe air, not the dust from your PC.

The number of people opening subs in either WoW or GW is really looking scary. I hope this downtime doesn't lead to half my friends not being there when I get back.

guild wars isn't great with randoms is true
but the missions are actually fun, and can all be done with ai henchmen.
one friend can run you through most of the game, to asscension which gives instant lvl 15+ (max lvl is 20) in about 2 hours.

and the pvp is utterly amazing

There will be news on the website today regarding Prydwen. The Mythic office only opened for the day a couple of hours ago and as you can imagine they need a little time today to get back to us with more info.

Please don't expect official updates regarding this until late in the afternoon or early evening there simply isn't anything we can tell you until then.d

You should of said please dont expect any new info until mythic get back into work tommorrow, surely you have a better update for the work mythic carried out last night?
