I have just got a sexy stereo and I wanted to put my pc sound through the system via optical output from my pc.

Obviously the pc has the opti socket and so does the stereo. I connected both up and made sure digital output was enabled on my pc but I got no sound through the stereo.

Can this be done or do I need a certain amp made for pc's?

Motherboard is an Asus P4P800-E Deluxe and stereo is a Denon DM35DAB.

Thanks in advance sexy nerds.

10 seconds with Google turns up a list of specs that suggest youve connected the PCs digital output to the stereos digital output.

Unless the stereo has a digital input, which at first glance it doesnt appear to have, its not going to make any interesting PC-generated sounds.

Well with me being a man I decided not to read the manual. I was wondering if it was in or out on the stereo.

Thank you sir.

Bollocks to manuals.

No need for them when Google is there to answer virtually any question ;)
