Has he previously performed an illlusion that was very convincing yet what you were supposed to see and beluive was not the same as what actually took place?
If the answer is "yes" then he has no reason to do something "the hard way" if he doesn't have to.

Can you come up with a way the "stunt" could be performed without risk, but still remaining convincing?
If the answer is "yes" then it would seem obvious that a man trained in this type of thinking could easily come up with a convincing and safe way to produce the effect, probably several ways infact, some of which you would never think of, without further information, no matter how long you were given to think.

So he has a safe and convincing way to create the effect.
Illusion is his proffession.
Why would he do it "the hard way" most people would still think it was a trick anyway.

If illusionists really get off on danger they don't become illusionists.

another wellll painful thing i got the other day was, in like india or somut, they get this guy whos a criminal, they get him on all fours, strip his trousers down, get a huge 8ft long javalin like spear thing with a very sharp end, and insert it up his arse, then they put him upright and let him slide down lol. the spear ends up comming out of his neck somewhere.

not really lol. but yea, i like watching stuff that really makes u cringe, its ok when u know the person deserves what he gets. like criminals being tortured and stuff, thats what ya get for being a crim. i wouldnt like to see anything like it happen to an innocent person tho.

Read the papers today, the location that they did this was in Jersey, which is part of the UK, meaning that having a Gun is illegal there, so they used a fake gun. The police monitored what was going on and let this "stunt" go on because they knew it was perfectly safe and there was no chance of anyone getting hurt.

Slightly off-topic but still kinda disturbing in its own way...

I was just reading about some serial killers, specifically Richard Trenton Chase, and it is quite alarming to think that he was actually sent off to a mental institution for some time where he showed signs of paranoid schizophrenia, 'Renfield Syndrome' and some other mental illnesses but was later released after being deemed safe to re-enter society. This was after he was found in his cell with 2 dead birds which he had killed and then drank their blood. You'd have to read the whole account but...jeez...what the fuck were those psych boys thinking when they released him? This guy admitted to hunting down, torturing, killing and then drinking the blood of cats, dogs, rabbits and a variety of other animals...and they think this guy is safe?!!?

It is really quite amazing and disturbing at the same time. Really, REALLY disturbing.

People like that should be executed. They are a waste of time, money and space, let alone being a great danger to the public. I also think that the person who decided he was O.K. to be released should serve some sort of prison sentence, if he didn't already.

Well...he was executed after going off on a rather nasty killing spree (even I was a tad shocked at the extent of it). Even so...you would think that after all this time people would be more aware of the tell-tale signs and keep such people under lengthy observation if they have no option BUT to release these people.

If they want to protect people (if you can call them that) like serial killers, rapists etc. then they should also be executed imo. It may seem harsh, but if this happened you would notice a quick improvement in society all over the world.

A loooooong time ago, I wrote an essay about Crime and suggested that the use of EXTREME punishments on all minor and major criminal offenses could be used to alleviate overcrowded prisons, reduce taxes, remove a vast amount of criminals from society AND act as a deterrent to more criminals.

By 'extreme' I mean methods of execution that would make Hannibal Lecter turn green and vomit.

Aside from the human rights issues (which I don't really give a toss about) I can't find anything wrong with the idea. Uber practical.
