I didn't bother watching it as I was told it would be fake and therefore crap.

Watched Barcelona play Valencia and it was/is one of the most boring football matches in ages

Seriously, don't listen to some of the retards here. They had to do it in a different country because of UK laws btw.

Well he's a good actor then coz he looked as if he was proper shitting himself.

It isn't fake I don't think. He got him to say 1-6 out loud and I'm pretty sure you can tell (I used to read a lot of body language stuff for fun) if you say it. Especially since he was chosen because he was the easiest to read. He spend a week with him as well. Its bloody impressive but you can see how he did it.

Wow. The man is god.

Edit: I thought it was in chamber 1 by the way.

I saw him live once. I have no idea how he did some of the stuff he did. Other stuff is more obvious, especially as he picks people that are susceptible to suggestion.

For example, when he was asking him if he had picked a number he said "Have you picked ONE yet?".

It was in chamber one.... Some people are easy to influence. this dude was one of them, hence why he was there.

Some of the things in that show are interesting though. Like the coloured chair bit where they subsconciously put themselves into alphabetical order.

Nutty...

Indeed... either real or *damn* good acting.
His face was just a pure expression of "....fuck !" after firing chamber 5.

Little bit of an anticlimax at the end though... he built up all that tension sitting there in silence for ages, and then fired 2 shots in as many seconds... I realise the program was over-running slightly, but come on ! Put some showmanship into it ! :)

If it was done with a deck of cards and he said:

"If you don't pick the Ace of Spades I'll shoot myself"...

...everyone would have gone "coo wow! what a great trick"

I can't believe that people, especially these days, can believe it's anything other than an elaborate trick.

It's a class piece of TV, no doubt, but that's all it is...

Not that I watched it, due to the fact that I was watching paint dry, but I guess only one outcome would of shown it to be real.....if he had blown his brains out :)

Well he only ever claims to be a psychological magician so it's always pretty obvious he tries to play on people's minds on each trick.

Seen plenty other stuff with him and he's just a clever bloke really, not an illusionist or anything.

Didnt see much of the bullet, were those cement bags on the wal? not much cement flying every where.

Im not keen on this kind of 'magic', i can never see past the fact that its on television

It was fun to watch, he entertained and plugged his new book/dvd. I think he is very very good at what he does, and that is pull more wool over your eyes than can be found in the whole of New Zealand.

Fake or not, I would watch more of his stuff, because it did entertain.

I'm convinced that everything on that show was planned from the beginning. Maybe not the very first bits, but everything from when they drew the pictures etc. was planned.

I don't know what to make of it, but I do know that it was bloody tense to watch and the selection process demonstrated just how good he is at his trade.

He's an entertainer, and if you're prepared to believe in it, it's very very good.

Also, the bags were sand, not cement. When he fired off the shot you could see a second stream of sand pop out, so deffo a real bullet.

It was good fun watching though - fuck knows what would have happened if he *had* shot himself though..

Please show me the shot where you see the gun fired and the bag being hit in the same shot? Apart from during the training with the armourer, the bag and the gun are not in the same shot.

Heh, admittedly didn't think of that.

Ah well, it was still a good watch.

True it wouldn't If the had a squib in the snadbag, then showing or not makes no difference. Unless they were worried about the timing or the squib not going off properly. But thats reading into things far too much so I shall shut up now.

What's UK law? A law against making shite tv programmes?

Come back Paul Daniels, all (well most) is forgiven.

The actual stunt was a bit drawn out, it did seem that the mistake he made was deliberate, because you could see him sitting there thinking "am I losing it ?" etc.

The best part was when he guessed those peoples pictures, and copied that one out. Also when he was guessing the word people were thinking of at the end.

At the end of the day at least he's acknowledging it's all mind games and clever tricks, not some "psychic" bullshit that a lot of people use to con with.

At least it was interesting, not like that guy who locked himself in a box without food, ages ago, he might still be there for all I know, what was his name again ? ;)

The Daniel guy - not the final one (James), the one who he drew the evil eyes out for and who also guessed his word "glass" was such an obvious plant.

TBH It wouldn't surprise me if that Daniel and James were both plants.

Although Derren Brown is admittedly extremely good. You can't just get everyone to throw their hands up in mid air without being good at what he does.
