Is anyone else sick of it?
I find it shocking to see Milliband actually aligning himself in the direction of the Conservatives (who you expect to be divisive) in demonising and punishing benefits claimants.
The reality of the welfare system is that the biggest chunk goes to pensioners - its dis-ingenuous to pretend that cracking down on jobseekers allowance etc. can achieve much when the elephant in the room is the ever growing pension bill and other non-means tested benefits for the pensioners.
Of course pensioners vote whereas the benefits claimants often dont.
I find the whole divisive agenda quite depressing - there will always be people exploiting any system but the vast majority of those on benefits are legitimate.
What happened to helping each other as a society - do we really want a forgotten underclass?
