Tried Glenfiddich 15 (Solera reserve) and 18 (Ancient Reserve) the other day.

Ancient as you'd expect has a very strong and powerful smell and aroma, very strong taste sensation.

Solera was weird though, I was expecting it to be more coarse tasting than the 12 year old but I found it the best out of the 3 i've tried! Smooth to drink, soft flavour but not in a bad way and it slips down so well. It's teh yum.

Altho I have and use that glass, and can recommend it. the truth is.
Any Sniffer glass will do, especially the grappa glasses, or the thin Cognac sniffers. I'm glad to see it on the market as it's slowly and surely moving consumers away from tumblers wich imo dont compliment the whiskies as well as sniffer style glasses do.

Depending on the whisky I Some times bypass the glencairn and op for the taller sniffer glasses. The way I use it tho mostly is: For the whisky I already know the Glencairn. For first time tastings I Always use the tall sniffers, but then I dont pour a full dram either, I find that about 1cl is Ideal.

i wasnt using sniffer glasses previously. i had long tulip-ish beer glasses that was as close as i could get to a tulip shape. so this was a good addition for me.
