heh. Got it today. Posting in 1600. :) It's so clear. I was thinking... I'll have to keep it around 1280 or something but 1600 at 75Hz suites me fine for now. But then I've only been using it 5 mins. :)

Off to play all my games in 1600 and chore the fuck out of my new 1.4gig athlon. :)

Okay, been using it for about an hour now. It seems to have developed a random darkness and brightness thing. Almost like a flickering candle. It comes and goes. I hope it's just it's "settling in" period. Wel..90 day garuntee should be more than enough time to tell wether this trait is permanent. The picture itself is great though. :)

Heh heh.

Just told the guy I work with about the Taxan deal and how happy I am with the monitor. Within 10 mins he'd ordered one too. :)

SomeGuy...you having any probs with this flickering thing on your monitor?
I think mine's a bit fux0red. Ah well...good job it showed up in less than 90 days. Maybe if I wait till they've sold them all, I can get the TCO99 :)

I did have a problem with mine where it would randomly go into power-saving mode. I wiggled it around a bit and it sorted itself. Then one day it wouldnt come back out. I rang up Taxan, and they sent me a new monitor no questions asked.

I rang Taxan once because my monitor was humming and they replaced it without any hassle...very good.

Hmm...very odd problem. It's been fine the last couple of days. Maybe it's a little cooler cos I've had the window open???? Odd reason.
I've sent them an email. It's just a pain cos of getting my girlfriend or someone to house sit for it to be picked up.
I'll see how it goes....

BTW, did you have to pay carriage when you sent it back?

No, they picked up the old one when they brought the new one out.

The flickering's started again for no known reason. Gonna have to arrange a swap.

Swapping tomorrow. I'm getting my girlfriend to house sit for me as I have to go to work. Hope it all goes well. They didn't really even ask for a detailed description of the problem, which is nice cos it means they're unlikely to try and say "it's not broken, have it back and while you're at it pay for shipping too" if they don't know what I said was wrong with it in the first place. :)
Did that make sense?

Well, I boxed it up and it's sitting in my hallway so as I type this I'm back on my little 14" Taxan Ergovision 410LR which isn't all that bad...it's just small.

Ta ta.

Your monitor sorted yet, Kenny?

I got the replacement today. They negelcted to include a monitor cable so I only just got back from the shops.
The monitor doesn't seem as sharp as the other one, the tube is ever so slightly wonky and..the wrost thing is there's "ghosting" on the screen. Vertical lines are feintly repeated for a few centimetres to the right. :(
Tried different res's and all sorts nothing's got rid of them. I'm gonna get Taxan to post me cable so I can rule out the fact that it may just be the shitty generic cable I bought from the local computer shop. I'm also going to order a VGA to BNC cable just, just cos I can ;)

So is my monitor sorted? Not quite. but at least it doesn't flicker like a mad bugger any more and the ghosting isn't so obvious when playing games.

As you quoted me yourself, above, my last comment point out that you're only 10 months older than me.
but then being as old as you are, you're likely to forget things.
