yeah that should work, the Divx site i used 5.02 to encode it... ill start encoding it to some other format now as i go to bed but it will prolly be big

One thing I noticed when encoding with divx version > 5 is that the picture gets 'wavy', you see it also in the US-lair style vid that slip made. I din't get that with divX version < 5.

I suppose tho that you recorded the output to a VCR ? I plug directly to tv-in on my laptop and the preview of the picture I get ain't wavy, but when I encode it, it gets wavy... wonder why

I watched them a while back nice once i must say... u don't have the kind of lag that i have been getting (as u can see in the movie.. at the end the mobs/players start lagging abit... )

BTW i have made a new encoding of the movie in windows media format should be about 25 Mb or so... even if it is only 4.34 mins but it is because i want to maintain the quality of the pictures...

i am trying to find some space to upload to..

ok I may be a bit thick but how do you make the DAoC movies ? I got Camtasia but its very jumpy and the game lags like mad when running it. Anyone got ideas please ?

i use TV-OUT to VCR and then from VCR to my TV-IN (thus recordning it to VCR first the Record the best parts back to HD when i have quit the game...

Agner Strahl use his laptop to record to so there are many ways but best is to record straight to another comp or VCR cuz then u get what u see, no lag (excpet for the lag ingame ) no missed frames or anything....

After i recorded it to HD again i use Adobe Premiere 6 and sometimes Ulead Mediastudio to cut and paste and add soundtrack to the movie.

Not as hard as it sounds.. well cuting and pasting takes some time to do since it will be MUCH to browse through...

one tip: if u want the movie to fit to the soundtrack ... choose the music first then u start plaing the clips after how the music is fast or slow for example..

Ok, I think this has been told in another thread already (quite a while back tho)

What I do is go stright from tv-out -> tv-in on another comp and compress it real-time (in my case my laptop where I don't have a lot of hd space =/ ) The 'problem' with this is either you compress the video 'real-time' (which I have done due to hd space) or you just stream it and store every frame without compression (ie. takes LOADS of space on the hd as you save every frame without compression) OR you have tv-out -> VCR and store everything without compression (and will end up with quality loss due to having to go VCR -> tv-in and compress every frame).

What I would do if I had the space to do is go tv-out -> tv-in and save the complete stream of video without compression and 'cut' the stuff that I want and make a new stream and THEN compres it with of without audio (if any), as mentioned before this method requires a lot of hd-space.

well, the reason for the 'lag' (ie. FPS. is the amount of players on the 'screen') you will notice the drop in FPS in movie 2 and 3 when there are more 'action' than in movie 1). The drop in FPS is due to the gfx-engine in DAoC.

I doubt I have better comp than most players in daoc as I have an AMD Athlon 900Mhz

i am not much ahead with my 1.3 athlon but it seams like it is the RAM that makes the most diff... i used 256 earlier now i use 512 and it runs much smoother.... cuz that could also be that WinXP don't eat all the 512 as it did with 256
