i have been playing on vortigern for 2 years...
the only server that really works is vortigern,cause urkraft is a server test,so u log there just to try something...maybe new RA or something else.
argain is the pvp server,but has always less than 200 players on line.
now vortigern has so few players for two reason :
first, the bankrupt of the CTO,italian copany that host daoc italia,has stopped the game at the 1.60 .that s make about the 60% of player come to play in US or european server.
second now in italy most of the player (like me) are on holidays,cause in italy things go that way!!
in normal period at evening vortigern have about +1200 player...
it s cost 12 euro for 1 month,and 32 for 3 month if i well remember....
i m still playing there cause i saw the new version and i don t like it very much

anyway we already have not italian players on vorti,many spanish for example

Things were 'very serious' for a period of time but Mythic 'reached some agreements' that a) kept the Italian DAoC servers up and b) introduced SI (it was patched in October 2003 I understand). What I recall is that finishing the Italian translation of SI and patching it was one of the things that kept IT DAoC going - presumably it would be seen as a boost.

With the numbers so low I would guess that the investment in translating and testing ToA might not be considered 'cost effective'. Essentially you would try to run the game with minimum support and try and operate it as a 'revenue generator' - like a utility company etc. This would entail zero development and is a fairly typical 'recovery strategy' feom a near bankrupt company.

Will it survive? With such a small population and no new content forthcoming it must be vulnerable than most to the new releases that are coming,

Hehe I play on their test server sometimes when I get bored on exc or if servers are down. About 15ppl in each realm at primetime but since I play with some other ppl it's not too boring. Not easy in the beginning though with all that italian stuff. And shame the trial is only 10 days :<
