When I first head people talking about FFXI I though "bleah - yuck". When I read some reviews I thought "Shite - too much level grind, forced grouping is no good". When I saw the TaruTaru I thought "Way too cute for my taste - Luri is as far as I'll go".

THEN WTF AM I SITTING HERE WANTING THAT ^#$%$#% PIECE OF ^$%#$%#???

I swear... I have found the secret to why FFXI has been such a success. If you take a close look at the screenshots, you'll see carefully hidden patterns... almost can't notice 'em... but they're screaming at you "Badger badge badger mushroom" until you just give in, pay the $$$ and play the game for 10-12 hours per day while joyfully chanting along.

Either that, or I'm just getting a tad tired of DAOC...

You've been playing DAOC too much - FFXI has more character than DAOC, and i dont mean slots i mean storyline and a reason for playing the game.

DAOC is all about wtfpwnfortehwin

Level a character to 50
Buy 2nd account Level a buffbot to 50
Buy SI so you can get more uber items
Buy TOA so you can get more uber items

Then spend eternity figuring out the best template, the best items - ohh and level again to get all your master levels. Then enter the frontier and whop - killed by a L30 bone dancer
