I went to the harrogate bike show in 1979 and the new ultralight MKM track frame was on show..people were crowding around like it was the mona lisa.

So I dragged the old bike out of the garage loft...its been up there 35 years...the tubs pumped up with no leaks..rode it down the road and now Im overcome with days gone by

?

Wouldn't mind one of those at all. Very practical around Copenhagen. The other one is just safer etc. when riding with children

Perhaps if moving objects but I see them carrying 4 children.

that's right Emb: cyclists use the squishy kids as a buffer zone in case some car swerves out randomly ;-)

Was getting bored of the winter hack, so bought another. Still getting the steelie. This one has a carbon frame and hydraulic disc brakes (unusual on a road bike). Just christened it today, it's very nice.

I saw the thread title and thought it was about this.

And look at you @Tom with your fancy bucket on the wall.

Lulz. How many bikes?

Bloke at work's new carbon forks shattered whilst he was coming down a hill in the peaks at about 30mph. Broke his wrist.

Just sayin' ;)

He shouldn't have bought a Chinarello then. Just saying...

whyte, not bad :) I'm getting a budget Genesis for some winter banging about with gears. it's last year's model Volant 10 and offers a large amount of bang for your buck. everyone knows I like a bit of buck banging so its a no-brainer really :)

So ~50 quid for a couple of sticks.

Yeah, that'll probably work on Kickstarter :)

They're very nice and I paid more than that for a couple of white buckets (but they always attract positive comments and they do an excellent job). They need a bit of work though. For instance, if you hang your bike horizontally, you'll need two pegs. And if the top tube isn't perfectly horizontal, you'll have to install the pegs at different heights. And if you then change your bike for something with a different frame geometry, you'll have to reinstall the pegs, which means messing around with your wall. The beauty of what I have is that you can do all that just by rotating the bucket.

Shame your mates kickstarter didn't quite make it @CorNokZ.

Been thinking of hanging my bike on the wall (and the bird's). It's more of a practical application than anything - they take up too much space in a room that I keep them in and I could make a feature and free up space.

However, it's them damn pesky handlebars. Does anyone know of an alternative that will cater to 40cm from the wall to the frame? @Tom? That cycloc is 8-9cm short :(

Oooh. Sent a mail asking them if they've got a product on the bake, or if they'd even suggest a competitor that'd meet my needs.

Got a mail back in about ten minutes saying they've got a product coming out in march!

Looked into locks and chains - there's not a single chain on the market, police approved or not, that can stand up to more than 5 minutes abuse.

Even spoke to specialist chain manufacturers for motorbikes and it's a no. Plus - component theft is a thing for bikes too.

Either way - I'd much rather have 'em on my living room wall. Come in after a ride, hang it up, job done. Looks good. What's not to like? :)

If a bike thief wants your bike, he'll get it. Regardless of chains and what not. Best way to keep it safe is inside, as Scouse says. You can at most make it difficult for the bastard.

Plus - if you have it in your house your house insurance will cover it (mine are named on the policy).

Much cheaper getting insurance through your home policy - it cost me £100 more to insure the two bikes but specialist bike insurance for bikes alone would cost me ~400...

So how much does the wall mount cost you, @Scouse?

And which one did you choose?

Didn't realise you spent that much on bikes. I would be scared to have them leave the house lol

Ironic really because you sound as you think you live in Fort Knox and getting in to your house would be hard :p
