I have no drive auto either.
Also noone seems to have a car...so we can't drive anyway, so lets find a taxi to take us there.

Best get a move on, it'll be early afternoon before we get there.

I think if we pass by a gas station we should buy some candles/torches as I guess it'll get dark pretty fast and we'll still need to work

<you could always see if there are any car rental firms ? or, seeing as youre in the state capital, check in with , oh i dunno, art museum, newspapers, police etc.., dunwich may not be a hive of information and activity >

seems to be little of interest, but then it was 8 weeks ago, maybe older papers would be more relevant

Who fancies a trip to the police - see what they know about the murder? Poag?

Its unlikely that Boston police would have the files of Dunwich local PD. But a visit may give us some contacts in Dunwich to follow up with.

To the PD!

<to keep things simple, is everyone happy with having the 2 seperate bits in this thread, rather than in PMs, as im assuming you will confer and therefor pool information, rather than copy/paste stuff twice ?>

<Good for me - just make sure you prefix each thread so we know what we're looking at :)>

Poag - since we're in the state capital, the police HQ might have a report that helps us ask the right questions when we go to Dunwich.

Local papers cover pretty much what you already know
Mr Dale Plunckett, a citizen of France, and a well respected art dealer, was brutally murdered sometime late in the evening of february 17, 1922. His body was discovered by Mr Arnold Pigeon, the milkman, who was making his rounds at approximately 4:00am. Detective Inspector D Ferkin of the State Motor Patrol was in charge of the investigation. So far, no progress has been made

Ok, well Digby and I will go checkout the Boston PD for contacts/info.

So, Digby, I, err, umm...mm....I was sorry to hear of Dr Burgess err...demise. His books were always a subject of...debate at the University, his visits very...enlightening...surly a grave loss to the literary world.

<This is while we are walking there.>

I'll do that at the library too, for what it's worth. Any newspaper articles on this address?

"Thank you for you kind words Mr Poginton (may I call you Alyk ?). I must profess that Mr Burgess and I disagreed on many topics surrounding his research. He was, in many ways, a great man ... and a mentor ... but he was also a fantasist. As my education progressed I found myself questioning more and more of his conclusions and beliefs; so you see, you do not need to be so polite in your opinions. The irony is that this pessimism has made me the ideal person to continue his work."
