9 months in and we still aren't doing what we should have been doing from day 1

The appetite for following the rules is getting smaller by the day, largely understandably so as nearly every week Bojo and chums come out and waffle on about some new rules that will help us turn the corner, but ultimately fail.

First lockdown, didn't go far enough, mismanaged, track and trace joke
Second lockdown, not really a lock down anyway, lifted too early
Third lockdown, not really a lock down anyway, free-for-all xmas
Fourth lockdown in the new year, way too little, way too late. Close the fucking schools!

Ultimately the blame can be laid at the doors of all politicians;

The Tories for being utterly useless and ineffective, preferring to hand out contracts like sweets to their mates rather than doing something useful, ordering cheap crap PPE that is unsuitable, laughable track and trace system, that still doesn't work.
The Scots for using it as a points scoring exercise and ultimately parroting the Tory strategy but with an ever so small change to something so they can say they are doing it differently.
Labour for being a weak opposition

All this shit so they can say "Protect the NHS" well, numbers are still rising at an alarming rate and hospitals are running out of beds, so even that aspect has completely failed. Oh and what was that cunt Hancock doing going on TV pretending to cry but actually giggling like the silly little wanker he is.

Bojo and his entire cabinet need to do the honourable thing and resign.

This works on assumption they give a shit, when has Gove or BoJo acted in an "honourable" way unless its suited their need at the time?

The first thing they need to do is fully explain that masks are of practically zero benefit and as the Who correctly advised for decades until caving in to political pressure, they just cause bad habits.
People presume its OK to congregate..get in cars..sit on public transport because the mask is somehow magically protecting them...it isnt, the virus passes through the mask with ease and fills the space.

Heres a study on surgical masks in surgery.

Wataboutary, wound infections are not caused by viruses in water globules. Covid isn't airborne. Wearing a mask reduces (not eliminates) the amount of water globules that leave your mouth from travelling through (not in) the air and anyone who thinks they do are as stupid as you are.

20,000 means success.

Tories said that. That's the bar we should judge them by.

Really?

722 deaths in South Korea - that's an equivalent population closer to the epicentre than us.
25 deaths in New Zealand - that's a commonwealth island colony (350 deaths if you equivalent the populations)

About 0.8% of the world's population we're up more than 5% of the global death toll.

  • We were warned what to do in advance.
  • We were told how to prepare.
  • After a decade of inaction the Tories then ignored the scientists and failed to get a grip - and have just lied and lied as they went along, lining the pockets of the already-rich.

We, the UK, are a fucking joke.

So yeah. I disagree.

They posted a study..then removed it, they eventually updated it after much pressure from scientists, that aerosol transmission happens in confined areas over 30 mins.

So not strictly airborne then.

And wearing a mask would help stop introduction of said particles into the air.

And wearing a mask would help stop breathing in said particles from the air.

So wearing a mask helps to stop (but not 100% eliminate) airborne transmission...which is the whole fucking point, you utter fucking dullard.

So yeah. I disagree.
Korea and many asian countries had a lot more experience of this thing and their systems were setup for it. And many people in Seoul at least were wearing masks as routine. They have a much more compliant culture. NZ shut all borders. Yes we could have done the same. But its easier for them as their only close trading partner is aussies. So they are not as reliant on imports as we are. And its a hella lot harder to international travel from nz anyway cause everywhere else is so far away.

i know ppl there and in aussie and they dont casually cross country boarders like EU countries do (including the uk).

the tories picked up systems which i guess were not prepared when they took office in 2010. So you could argue its a political football that has been dropped by successive governments and the timer ran out when the tories were in power.

but what ever i say you will disagree with so my last post on the subject for now.

I don't disagree with "whatever" you say. I don't do that on principle with anyone or anything. This forum is littered with me going "shit I was wrong, sorry".

I disagree when you're wrong - I've already responded to the points you've made here, with links and evidence, multiple times this year.

So sorry @Moriath, the fact is whatever evidence I provide to show you why you're making a mistake, you'll disagree - and then accuse me of doing exactly that.

Everyones wearing a mask and the virus is spreading like we are trying to get it.
The original advice from the WHO that masks make things worse is being played out in front of us, how the living fuck can we trust a complete U turn without any new evidence, its a political move to give public confidence and its not doing jack shit.
Were all going to be tier 4 after christmas, masks are not helping..they are making it worse.

I think that his government was the last effective one though. It would be my choice to have dealt with a pandemic.
Undoubtedly Labour would have pumped more into the NHS and not ignored WHO advice. But they come with freedom-killing intellectual death.

We're all fucked!

Another-another strain now

Just been talking with a colleague this morning who is recovering from it, she was lucky and didn't have to go to hospital but she was saying how she is so exhausted she can pretty much fall asleep standing up. Horrible virus.

Since there are new faster spreading variants then the only solution right now is a blanket lockdown until mid Jan really.
"Tier 3 isn't good enough to control new variant" as stated by Matt Hancock.

So why not lockdown now! Instead of in a week from now which i bet will happen.

All along the most consistent message from scientists is that the earlier you lock down the better. And that we should lock down early and HARD to stop the virus - then track and trace.

And our Tory government has done neither - and we're one of the world leaders in death.

And we've people still apologising for them.

Why the living fuck are natural virus changes, well documented and clearly expected being treated as some unforseen turn of events.
Media using words like mutant...the original virus is a 'mutant'.
The vaccine will probably be OK, if not they can alter it in 6 weeks.

Its here to stay and the only possible future for humanity is to accept it as a killer of the vunerable, just like the flu, colds and a multitude of other respiratory infections.
We are now in mass hysteria territory, average deaths are below normal and if all these people are dying of covid..they arent...then we have a miraculous recovery from all the other diseases.

Shield the over 60s and immune weakened and rebuild life starting jan 1st.

OK. We're over-explaining to you - you just don't get it. But one very last try, on one point you just don't seem to be able to comprehend:

we have a miraculous recovery from all the other diseases.

No @Job. It's the lockdown.

The lockdown doesn't just affect covid. It also means other communicable diseases are getting stopped too. - So whilst our excess deaths is still high (because covid is SO bad as to require a lockdown) the incidents of death by stuff like flu is much lower - because people aren't catching it as much.

Do you see m8? Lockdown is helping preventing deaths from all contagious diseases.

Trouble is there is just as many lobbying to not lockdown.

And lockdown has a big financial issue with it. So i can see why they dont want to. But i agree with you. We should lockdown everywhere now.

Well thats convenient isnt it, doesnt seem to be impacting covid transmission one bit, but is amazingly having a major effect on other respiratory diseases.

Sarcastic meme featuring man infecting young child with smallpox virus after treating him with completely unproven homemade vaccine, child takes all the risk...man gets all the money.
