converting my usa account to euro ?

Hey guys, long time no see

Goanne make the right decision and start playing euro wow from start instead of switching over months later.

Somewhere i heard it was/would be able to convert my account (lose my chars offc) and switch to euro when they opened up?

Anyone has some more info on this?

afaik you can only do this if you have an unused US CD-Key. You need to mail the eu customer support to make sure. But i think the converting accounts was mainly for people who bought the wrong boxes and have an unused CD key.

If they do let you use your already used US CDkey let me know lol

Try sending a mail to either transferEU(a)blizzard(.)com or WoWtechEU(a)blizzard(.)com
They helped me with a transfer problem i didnt really have (please dont ask what/why)

Think I've read some emails from people who bought US version and wanted to play on EU that it was possible to make an account on the EU with their cd-keys. But dunno if it's true or not.

From what they've said is, If you bought the US ver but never successfully made a US account then you should be able to transfer it over to EU by emailing the EU blizzard support.
If however you did manage to create a US account (like myself) then i will either have to buy the EU version or wait and see if blizzard EVER allow cross US/EU playing....
Sucks but they said from the start that would be the deal .... hey ho.,...

I've ordered a US Collector's Edition copy of the game, and Ive got the CD Key ready. However, the package wont be here for a few weeks, so I've ordered the English version of the game to.

1) Will my US Collectors Edition CD Key work when I install the EU game?

2) If not, how do I play on EU servers using a US CD Key?

i doubt it. not unless u edit the patch file that connects to the patch server.. u want it to connect to US servers i guess (since u have a US CD key) and not the EU servers (wich are down untill friday anyway)

but dont ask me what file to edit and what to put insted of the existing lines, coz i havent got a clue hehe

As i said......
1) No unless Blizzard transfer it to an EU CDKey.
2) You wait and see if/when Blizzard will allow US players to access EU servers & EU players to access US servers. They still keep saying yes/maybe/possibly/dunno......

If I purchase a German Collector's Edition, would I be able to play it in English.

If not, to confuse matters even more, could I use my English copy of the game, with the German CD KEy? Would it work, and which language would the game be in?

My guess is that the game would be in English because the client is English, but that's just a guess.

yes.
Localization are client based but you can play on any european server with your european account (like for DAOC). You can dw the client in another language on the official web site (menu on the right).

AFAIK you can only switch from US account to EU account if you're from Canada (made for french-speaking canadians).

yes and yes. ur still connecting to a european server. so any language and euro CD key will work..

and the language will be displayed in whatever language the server have that u play in afaik.. i might be wrong there but if i am it should be fairly easy to fix i guess.

i mailed blizzard, and they cant do it with used keys. they can with non-used keys.

so i bought some new copies of the game

look me up on Burning Legion / alliance under legar if ya want
