But we've had a fkin good laugh along the way you can't deny that heh what is your lots most remembered and funny moment on the above things since daoc went live ;>


Daoc nears an end (not saying it will fully die but it will take a battering from people that leave for Warhammer)

Can't say i've found anything funny about any bugs, cheats, exploits or radar either, just reported it all.

DAoC is the best game, and will be the best game ever created, all the days from the beggining for me is the same, it is just as fun, it is just raw, the game totally rules.

I will remember this from DAoC, when I die, not when the game dies.

I agree with Kag, it looked like a pile of Dump last time i looked (was an Alpha stage tho) , ill check up on it again soon, but tbh i didnt like the look of the way it moved.

Altho its on alpha stage its looks like a piece of shit to me. If they are gonna make a cartonish like game like WoW they can piss off cause i aint playing that shit...might as well play free games like GW or Flyff or rappelz

Since i stopped playing daoc i've been casually playing WoW with some rl friends and the pvp in WoW is just complete shit the only fun part in WoW is doing stuffs with good friends, the pvp part is just done to get better gear really.

If so many people i used to play with hadnt already quit Daoc i'd probably still be playing it and having a blast.

It's probably gonna take a damn long time before any game will even come close to the pvp/rvr system that daoc has to offer, if ever.

It looks reasonably good CONSIDERING it is alpha stage.

The graphics at alpha should show a very good engine for the released product if it follows the way DAoC/WoW etc. worked.

I found running at speed 6 in stealth quite funny, (p.s. this was not a bug I tried to get, it just happened to me, I would be going at normal speed go into stealth then it would make me run at speed6, only happened to me a couple of times but very funny. and NOT sometimes i would exploit even if i knew how to repeat it

This is a very vague memory, but I seem to remember a hacker incident about 4-5 years ago, where hackers managed to access to the server database or whatever (Im no computer genius ) and they made ubah mobs spawn outside apk in emain in OF. Think one of em was Legion but can't remember. As soon as you left the portal keep you got instapwnd.

I sent a mail to mythic a couple of months ago saying that exactly - The use of unprogramed events such as puting SI dragons and other epic mobs in the middle of RvR.
I also sugested a swap of Realm abilitys for 1 week or something, non pet classes having the possibility to have pets, tanks with spell stun, casters with sword styles and shields, casters/tanks with stealth or lb etc etc the possibiltys are endless ..... I know its not easy for a Game company to make those changes, but would surely spice up the game and have a few laughs of it

figures and shit I think it is abit cheap, like wow...
compared with daoc... it's something special about it.

From all bugs I think I liked the Villa exploit the best, shame it got fixed in a matter of hours when it got found out and published how to do it in the US
The waterpot bug was fun aswell to insta put down a FoP or a Titan.
Also the ML10 Soj bug where if you moved to a certain direction you would end up behind the relic gates of Hib was nice

1: Block Raid on mids in OF. Albs raided mids w/o killing any guards. Tanks with guard took aggro from all relic guards while zerg got doors down.
Mids never knew what hit them when relic went neutral

2: when that hib (cant remember e something i belive) pulled some sort of dragon on the alb zerg in emain. killing most of them (before si release?)

3: when a few TT got banned by goa for trying to make the game better for the majority.This ending up with half the server moving or quitting (well you know the story). guess this aint realy a fun thing tho but more or less exploiting from goa.

4: Treb pulling mids outside portal border keep. (OF Pre Toa).

5: And ofc the mentioned (wich ive only seen on screenshots) the spawning of alb dragon and two legion's (i think it was) in OF on pry apk.


Guess only the 5th is a real hack/exploit tho.


oh and storm pve farming was ace!

Well my first real impression of the marvellous things...

Well my first real impression of the marvellous things...in the world of DAoC was when I as a lvl 34 troll shaman wander around the woods of Midgard, basically scared of everything, and stumble upon a strange portal.

As I enter the portal, I was teleported into the area of Thidranki (I think it was thid), and everywhere I look I see treehuggers of Hibernia, and Knights of Albion...and all of them purple con as hell...yiiiaks...I land running the other direction, but none of them attacks me. Hibs, Mids and Albs are foefighting a huuuge zerg of humongosly evil mobs. As I make my way to the central keep everyone big as small (lvl 1-50) is there, helping to overthrough this evil.

It turned out to be an organized event by GoA, and in my opinion the best one up to date.

Now that was a day to remember in my DAoC life.
(I know some of my then elitist rvr friends found it a great oportunity to farm rps, but me for one appreciated the roleplay of the event. Actually that was what made me keep playing DAoC. I was about to give up the game before that point. It just showed me that anything could happen!

Only 2 things come to mind actually.

First was shortly after they patched TOA on the US servers when Grapple was still a infini-spammable thing.

Some mids or hibs (don't remember) had grappled Lelorinel's paladin, build a ram infront of him and rammed him to death.... few days later rams couldn't hit players anymore

The other being a Mid SB (forgot his name but I think it was Blodsvit ) who had been hiding ride along the zone edge near castle Sauvage. He had turned his character anti-clockwise and ended up in Camelot Hills. (there were more holes, but that's the only 1 I ever knew to have been found)

He made a nice journey through the classic lands (pre-si ofc) and took tons of snapshots. He even made a nice web presentation of his vacation in Albion.

He had ofc reported himself right away, but he went to explore none the less while waiting for CM feedback. He didn't get a sanction or anything as he had not attacked anything at all.

PS : the day they patched the Mordred (PVP-server) to go live I logged into my normal server and within a few seconds I got a /send going : "Hail Erulin, my name is (forgot) and I'm a hibbie..." That freaked me out to no end

Wow graphics are fine for a mmo, they run stable and as of what ive seen glitch free.

Its a bit premature of people calling WAR shit based on some alpha footage and screenies of a game still in development. WoW has the balance of everything right apart from PVP (which isnt that bad at lvl 60 in the BG's). Crafting, instances, gear, LFG system, UI,weapons, rolepaly and levelling are ingenious additions that im sure Mythic are looking at very closely. WAR has the potential to be a killer mmo despite how its graphics look or alpha footage moves.

i do agree about the best pvp thing in daoc tbh tried alot of other popular mmo's and none of them came close pvp wise.. but graphically and layout they pissed all over daoc within a few hundred miles of safety.. i just hope they change warhammers alot before it comes out ^^ still less posts regarding death of daoc i guess more on the bugs etc over the years go go
