ppl was killing other ppl on the pvp server.
so sad, i wanted to roleplay.
Stand in mularn all day and protect the poor npc:s from the evil skeletons roaming the hills.
Thats why i decieded to play there, i mean. Who can expect to be pk:ed on the pvp server, not me :(

Its like the salem trials for names here guys. Diahoreah Shitbomb may be a stupid name but its hardly offensive. Its not racially,sexually or anythingally prejudice. Why do all the same peopl jump in with crap <no pun intended> flames as well. Is there a post count contest here. I laugh at all the people who can only write you are an idiot or you are stupid as a response.
If that name is insulting 85% of these posts are and everyone should be banned from thr boards. Roll on the stupid mutual grouping of I blame... feed a cookie to... This board to me is like reading "The Sun". Full of crap posts where some are mildly amusing. Think of something new because most of you are predictable and boring and really just plain spammers. I see people say "fuck" in this thread which has to be more offensive than liquid poo. How about writing WHY its offensive to you. There is a difference between offensive and a belief that STUPID names should be outlawed. Come on who seriously sees a name like Liquid Poo and thinks "You sir have offended me" Its more likely "your taking the piss out of this game and it shouldnt be allowed." If I called myself Tampax Applicator would I be offensive? Why ? I'm a pole armsman wiith a sense of humour maybe. Do you ever watch TV? Geez a lot worse words are said by comedians but I bet you laugh. My points stand and if your going to complain be a bit more descriptive about why YOU find it offensive?

My opinion is its a stupid name. If stupid names arent allowed from a RP perspective set out by GOA then fine. It is definitely NOT an offensive name. BTW I've had liquid poo all day. Just thought I would share that with you and hope you dont get offended.

And its ripped from a Book, written by Robert Jordan, Wheel of Time series. Afaik at least :) So hi Mr. IHaveNoImagination.

And IMO, Diaree is a stupid name but not offensive. At least I dont find it offensive. I find offensive if someone names a character like "AllFins MustDie" or "Layl IsATurd" or something like that. Well, the game is indeed a roleplay game, so these kind of names dont really fit in. Even if only a percentage know what it means. I dont have an opinion whether to change it or not, I dont really care. People play the games as they wish, some want to roleplay, some play to win. Some care about names, some dont. (And IMO the name is offensive to himself, not to the rest of the community)

Of course it's spelt wrong ... some other twat had already claimed Lanfear ;)

PS. Reason I chose that name is since this is an rpg and we don't have the opportunity to explain our background and so forth in-game (unless you want to write a 12page essay each time you encounter someone), I took this name so that people might have a clue about what kind of "person" it's they're up against or teaming with .. for those less fortunate (those who haven't read WoT ;) ) Lanfear is a powerful magics-wielder and thus I find it rather well fitting name for a runemaster.

And Commie (NP GM) it's not for the mids or albs cause I posted this flame, think of all the poor hibs that actually have to see the lastname of this sad sod, what if they by chance recently had stomachproblems and thought they'd spend some qualitytime mending it infront of their computer and in daoc, then they stumble across this Diaree bajsBOMB fellow, do you think it's fair that they should humiliated for having problems with their wc-visits? Other than that I think it's a really inmature name and it doesn't belong in an RPG :p

If the rest of the daoc community (at least those surfing these boards) don't have a problem with it then I guess I'll rest my case, but like at least half of the posters in this thread seem to have a similair point of view, so why don't you (commie) ask your beloved guildmember to consider changing his lastname into something more fitting, if not for our sake then at least for dem hibbies ? :)

Robert Jordan should be flattered to see his characters' names used by others, since the guy seems completely unable to come up with an ending for his series. It just goes on, and on, and on, and, hey look. Another part in the series! :)

Lanfear is not the only name taken from that series. I've seen other characters run around as well. :p I don't consider them to be that bad. Sure, if you want to be a Legolas #213, go for it. It certainly doesn't add to your credibility. ;)

A lack of imagination is a lot better than a lack of common sense or a lack of taste. =)

1. Origin of Layl Arvayheer comes from the World Map, ripped few city names and changed a bit.
2. Using the same name over and over so people recognise me, I dont hide under fake names like some.

Yeah, 'Tesla' was the name of a unit in Command & Conquer. (Although I was told that later. Never played the game. ;)

No, I do not find the name offensive, but I find it immature and utterly stupid, and the person that started char cant be older than 14 years, or maybe he's a oldsch00l cs play0r.
