if you don't want to add, then just don't add. i'm fairly sure you can find out who adds by experience, i.e. when they add on you.

The big problem is people have had their opinions, over and over and over and over ... and over again, the constant stream of "you added on my fight" just got to a point where the admin here didnt want to see any more, every other thread was a whine about people adding on a fight followed by 3 pages of why you should or should not add, even threads of a completely different subject eventually turned into a mass add or not add debate. Think about the storage of all that data, I run a pissy little guild site on vBulletin and the backup is already over 300MB compressed, I cant even imagine how much data storage they need or bandwidth - and its all free to us, the users.

If you would rather have a message board owned by a gaming company, GAME, EB whatever then im sure you would find a much more strict set of rules - take a look around at any other gaming company brave enough to host their own forums.

Barryswhine may have been nothing like this, but it was a different forum. If everyone left because of their CoC then they'd have no boards, but I dont see everyone up in arms about the rules. Any that are should read the last paragraph of my previous & try that as opposed to the endless whining, mod baiting, name calling, etc that the ohh so sensible & mature users do when they don't like the current situation.

Rather than collapsing we might find that others will come to FH and start posting things and ideas that would not have appeared otherwise and we will end up with a much more diverse and interesting place to read. that might be we all have different kind of humor But fun on others expence considering add whines and some other lovely whines arent alowed here. Im quite sure at least 80% or more if we dig up all whine threads will be about adding in some way or another. If it means forum will be more quiet when taking away all whine im happy thats so, as sharkith sais it might attract other people i know in game that think Fh is like a kindegarden and they might start post here. You can pm people with whine if you feel the need for it. If the point is to alert the likeminded non adder click there must be other ways of doing so without using FH to rally the "troops" of non adding doom every single day. Im also even more tired of the "funny whines" since evenryone knows by now most of them are all hypocrites. So there is no valid points in 90% of those whines. Its just garbage from someone that cant even clean up his own backyard before spweing shit.
Anyhow, i cant tell you whats funny and whats not. But i wouldnt be sad to see all those hypocritical whiners go and create their own forum.

lol allright fair enough, i do live with it...everyday. Just thought people would have some sence and stop whining when they know something isnt wanted. Just a kind of curtsesy when ur a guest on someones forum. And i do know people wont stop whining kiw..its in human nature it seems to bitch and moan over stuff that are very trivial..(weather etc) . For me the rvr discussion forum is really about entertainment, i read it to enjoy it, having posts peppered around that are inflammatory was part of the fun. Having those style posts and earnest posts regarding rvr arn't mutually exclusive.

I play for fun, i read for fun. I find this forum less fun than it was because of the draconian modding, but it wont stop me coming here as it's still the main uk daoc centric forum out there.

Shame prydwen.net wasnt taken more to heart by the excal community, but whats done is done.

Dave look I am going to chill out - I am kind of venting my spleen for other reasons and not very patient today so forgive me.

So excuse me I am not chatting with you on IRC I am not in your guild. Why then should I have to mystically know what you guys chat about? Why do we have to get it? You seem to be a member of some in club and then want everyone else to know that all this has been discussed before. Why do you seem to demand that a forum called FH becomes that in groups board? It just doesn't make sense.

I love to read funny posts its what makes this place amusing even those posts that are a bit over the line I still enjoy them. Add whine is not one of those things, it reduces the board to boring vitrol. I don't mind discussions on adding and I don't mind people coming here to try and iron out misunderstandings about adding. I do however detest bitching about it for all the reasons others have cited here.

As for kivik - your right and wrong all at once. Whining is fine. Add whine is not. Its a simple distinction. I don't see an anti whine explosion just a sensible attempt to control something that is not very healthy.

Sorry for being flamey BTW I think maybe I should go and burn a fucking gerbil or something.
