It's the same as your logic with Jacina. Just because it give added value - it doesn't change your basic resists. You can have higher basic resists AND croc ring.

I still say your template is quite good :)

Jacina's isint dependable iknow, like i said, sometimes u get the bonus sometime you dont, 40PP is still enough.

But Ctr IS 5% less dmg, how is that not dependable, and why shouldnt it be factored in?

Exsample:
Someone nuking/hitting me, will be hitting me for less with Ctr and 24%, than they will you with no Ctr and 26%.

Iknow i would have better resists if i had them all capped AND had Ctr, but why frown unpon my resists when they are better than most templates?

I think her point was: if you have 26% resists to everything and CTR it has more resists than your template ;)

However if you're saying that 26% resists to everything (or rather the resists you quoted) without CTR is equivalent to your templates resists including CTR you're right :)

Ye iknow, and she is right. Its a shame i cant fit more in. But look at the following quotes from this tread, all say its bad resists.
Thats why im trying to either educate ppl, or be told where im wrong.

tbh looking at it the only resists that are low enough to worry me are spirit, energy and matter - all uncommon resist types.

Heat at 22% is a concern because it's a dd resist but it's far from "bad" (especially given you have the additional 4% conversion)

Some people just have a thing for 26% resist to everything I suppose

9% heat vs 50% debuff and 10% piercing (assuming red friar resist): -4%
(33- 24 [debuff vs resists]- 26/2 [debuff vs item])

26% heat vs 50% debuff and 10% piercing (assuming red friar resist): 3%
(50- 24 [debuff vs resists]- 26/2 [debuff vs item]- 10 [resist pierce])

9% heat vs 50% debuff and 10% piercing (assuming 10% DR resist): -11%
(19- 10 [debuff vs resists]- 40/2 [debuff vs item])

26% heat vs 50% debuff and 10% piercing (assuming 10% DR resist): 0%

Debuffs do go under 0% as far as I know, would like to see a test proving otherwise though :).

The efficiency of debuffs is halved versus item resists and counts normal versus buffed resists (as I showed in the calculations by -24 [vs buffs] -26/2 [vs item]).

ah i c now ^^, and yes im pretty sure you can't be debuffed lower than 0%

Im not sure where you got that formula from Noblok, but its not in line with how the game works out resists after resist debuff.

First off the info the heat debuff gives is kinda wrong. This is the info you get from http://www.camelotherald.com/spells/spell.php?sp_id=2970

Empower Heat
Spell Level: 49
Category: Debuff (Heat Resistance)
Target's resistance to Heat damage is lowered.
Effect: -50

The delve of the spell ingame is also wrong, it says:

Empower Heat
Lowers the value of the target's resistance buffs or items to the listed damage type.
Base value of spell: 50
Resist decreased: Heat
-- Resists from spell-based buffs reduced 37%
-- Resists from item-based buffs reduced 18%

None on this is correct. Hope you follow me this far. The whole description is just verry wrong. To start with, it actully debuffs for an effecient 31% from you item-based resists. Then it checks for a resist buff. We will come to this later, but lets start with these 4 easy scenarios. You have the result of the debuff on the left.

0% item-based heat resist, 0% spell-based resist buff (-31%)
7% item-based heat resist, 0% spell-based resist buff (-24%)
16% item-based heat resist, 0% spell-based resist buff (-15%)
25% item-based heat resist, 0% spell-based resist buff (-6%)

Good you made it this far, now! How does it debuff the friar/shamman/CL resists? Well its verry easy to explain it just strippes the resist buff into half.

So if you have 10% from CL you get +5%, if you got 16% you only get 8%, and 12% from a 24% resist buff.

Scenario 2.

0% item-based heat resist, 10% spell-based (CL) resist buff (-26%)
7% item-based heat resist, 16% spell-based (Friar) resist buff (-16%)
16% item-based heat resist, 16% spell-based (Friar) resist buff (-7%)
25% item-based heat resist, 24% spell-based (Friar) resist buff (+6%)

I hope you understand how it works now.. This is also where resist piercing comes into play, you cant take it into account until you nuke the target. The bonus actully dosent work how it should (lucky us enchanters) cause IF you have lets say a positive heat resist after debuff, that little part is actully counted as item-based when nuked on. Even thou its from your resist-buff, thus making enchanters nuke on minimum 0% heat or lower.

Questions? Go ahead, just remember whatever item resist you have, stripp 31% from it and half your resist-buff, and then if its positive put away max 10% (cant go negative). And then you know how much your effecient heat is vs the caster.

ps! Negative energy resists gives enchanters a huge damage boost, im not sure how much, but I find it amazing :D

I got the info from the thread I linked to in an earlier post. Guess I should do testing myself instead of simply believing what people say :).

Very interesting read. Have you got any information on the lower level debuffs as well? :)

debuffed my bot a couple of days ago (before the patch) and i reach my cap with nukes constatnly if the target is debuffed to -16 in body. if the target has red resist buffs and 16% body in template (all the body resist items i had on the char) im debuffing it to -3 in body and getting a veriance from 580- 610 or something. this was tested for about 10nukes on my bot so cant say the information is verry accurate but atleast that was what i found out. have notice a bit of a dmg loss since the patch tho. guess i gotta test again.

test done on cabalist with red body debuff btw

well cabas debuff works the same as you can see by your example. allthou your nuke is way different due to it beeing lifetap, you gain aprox 10% damage. Since its 110% (not raising cap).

More hits, but missing 4 con. Capped TOA stuff - except ppool but really it's impossible to get much more. Missing some pie cap, oh well. Resists are pretty good. All the toys are there.

After pvp'ing for about 2 days, I am not running around w/o capping buff eff..... it's a complate pain to switch out.
