Opera is even quicker but I can't stand the interface.
This, I hate that firefox is heading for a similar UI.

Been using it for a week now. FF is fucked unless it fixes up quickly.

To expand on my previous post. Chrome looks better than FF out of the box, no need to fiddle really. It's soo much faster, FF got to bloated at some point and I just accepted it because I didn't like Opera.

Firefox is bloated is it? Then why is it only currently using 135Mb? Considering it's been open for 4 days?

Sounds to me like the FF is bloated crew shouldn't be allowed control of their own computers to me! In fact if you're having that much of an issue using a proper computer, have you considered a Mac? It just works remember folks!!

Mate, FF used to be as fast as Chrome is, Chrome loads and runs a lot faster for me, on 4 systems. Without me having to fiddle with it.

That figure is meaningless without saying how many tabs you had open.

Chrome is faster than firefox currently, that's just a fact. I'm sticking with firefox for the time being though as I can't stand the chrome interface.

Chrome can use 2GB of RAM for all I care as long as it's faster, that's why my computer has RAM :)

This is also true - as has been said before "unused RAM is wasted RAM".

You infidels - I've stuck with Opera since 6.5, and i would not change it for that barren bucket of bugs you call Chrome.

Opera just works - I have everything I need in one package.

I seldom use the other browsers as well - but that's because some websites only work with one or the other.

For example, Outlook Web Access only works properly with IE.

Or some financial reporting tool only works with FF, and so on.

Opera is as fast, if not faster than Chrome - just try the latest release.

Check it out

It's just awesome.

I think opera is a pretty good browser actually. It takes a bit to get used to the minimalistic look, but it works well and is pretty fast too.

Opera is where the speed is, but it's always had a horrible UI. The current release is no exception.

Racist! :D You hate it cos it's black.

I guess people have different taste in UI's and colours and such. I've a slight photo-sensitivity, my eyes hate sudden, powerful light - such as opening a fullscreen application that's mostly white.

So I've been keeping most of my apps in dark/gray tones, UI wise.

And minimalistic == Good. Opera was the first browser to try and reduce clutter on screen, or at least to give you that option. And don't say IE 5/6.

In firefox I can set multiple tab as my homepage. In Chrome I can set which tabs open on start, but only one as a homepage. Is there anyway to get multiple tabs to open when I click the home button?

You can't currently, but you could make a bookmarklet with:

Code:
javascript:(function(){ window.location.href='http://site1.org/'; window.open('http://site2.com/'); window.open('http://site3.com/'); window.open('http://site4.com/'); })();

in it

Yes.

Use Firefox instead.

Actually, for what it's worth, I disabled a rake of shit on a work PC using Gamebooster for the heck of it and firefox was then on a par with chrome (even with all my extensions), which I found fucking odd. If I get bored I might dig into that one more.
