Where I work there's a police 'admin' centre to convince wealthy people that it's safe to buy the expensive houses next door as there's police to keep em safe from the council flats 1/2 a mile away. They're regularly parked all over the double yellow lines. The fact that policemen regularly flout road laws makes it triply hard to get any drivers to obey them.

I suppose the fella on a straight road doing 150 was clocked by a camera then if there was no other traffic? If he'd left the road totalled his car and killed himself and 2 passengers I wonder if we'd be thinking he was driving safely? You could argue he's only killing himself but then equally you could argue about the strain him having to be cleaned up out of his car put's on the emergency services, just because he was confident he could drive at 150mph

Whereas he wouldn't mind being blown up by the terrorist who wasn't strip searched because anti-terrorism officers didn't have the power to strip search because people kept moaning about them going over the top or living in a Nanny State?

I'm not saying that what happened in that case was right, I know I would be very annoyed and probably humiliated by that experience but, I'd rather be annoyed and humiliated than blown up or flown into the side of a building.

Calean isn't stating an opinion, if anything he's absolving himself from the need to have any opinion at all. I feel no guilt at all about attacking apathy and pig ignorance.

I do Ch3t but having read Goose post above he covers what I want to say in a much better way I would rather be delayed knowing that they could prevent the plane going bang. It is unlikely that this stuff is going to happen to me but if it did I would not be a dick about it thats just going to make it worse.

Actually, interestingly enough I'd rather run the risk of being blown up than have my freedoms (and others) tampered with. I'm not sure if you've read 1984 but in it we're always at war because a nation at war is more willing to give up its freedoms in order to remain safe.

I dont agree with Cals views but they are reasonable enough yet one might get the impression that he has come here with some race hatred post or something from some of the reactions.

Its an honestly held view and hes willing to discuss it reasonably so why not discuss it reasonably rather than rant - your destroying your own arguement by your method of delivery...
