He saying "Stay on the ground and waste some time. We are playing crap and liverpool are all over us and pushing forward, hopefully the ref will stop the game.... oh shit they got a free kick near the box, get up and go defend as there nothing wrong with you"

And aye, not much to say about the game. Really didnt entertain me much unfortunately, puts me off watching the second leg but no doubt i still will :p

I just thought he looked like the guy from heroes whispering:

"Psst! I know you have special powers, i believe you, but this is hardly the time and place to be using them!"

CHelsea were the far better team in the first half. Second half, you could argue Liverpool were slightly better but apart from Gerrard forcing a save from Cech there wasnt much concern for Chelsea.

Surely the "best defender in Europe" (Carragher) could have stuck his foot out to stop the cross before Cole scored?

On the subject of Carragher, my opinion of him has changed after last night. He was more concerned with fouling Drogba from behind and pleading with the ref to book him for diving. Shocking

Liverpool got played off the park, end of. They had what, 1 shot on goal worth noting all game?

Chelsea on the other hand could've had at least 4 :p

Chelsea deserved the win, what made me laugh was redknapp saying after the match that Lampard has told Drogba to stay on his feet :p Lampard is fucking worse.

Mourinho crying for a penalty again as well, I am sure he watched a different match.

No, Mourinho said he thought it was a handball and wasn't sure it was inside the box, listen carefully :p

Tell you what, the £12 million Chelsea paid united in compo for Mikel looks an absolute snip. He is top drawer.

No on sky sports he said they should have had a penalty you listen carefully.

"Liverpool had one, but the one was a great shot and a great save by Petr [Cech], but I don't understand why we don't have penalties when the penalties are so clear, I don't understand.

"I just go for facts, and again it is a fact. I don't think anybody can say it was not a penalty. It was a clear penalty, and I don't know why. It's happening, it's happening, it's happening.

"To be fair, this season in the Champions League we have had good referees and no problems, and to be fair to Mr Merk he had no problems, a top class referee.

"But it is a penalty, and a penalty is a big chance for 2-0, and 2-0 is a completely different game and a different story, so I feel it is not fair."

He is a moron :)

Fergie is winning in the mind games as usual.

Quit your QQ, yeah i think Drogba just is a tart, who falls on the floor WAY to much personally :) too.

But tbh, if anything, Liverpool played a more boring game, just trying to take it slow, whereas Chelsea where trying to quicken the pace right from the off.

Anyway 1-0 to take the Anfield. :) I don't think its enough, should have been 2.

Unforunately I cant disagree with that, however it only goes for first half, second half was a dull and level affair :p

But at the point Drogba was laying down for no reason it was advantage liverpool. It a typical attackers piece of play though. Lose the ball and lay about and pretend your injuried in a hope that the ball played out/ref stops play.

I really cant think of more then 2 liverpool chances in the whole game. One was a Riise passback to cech, the other was the Gerrard shot, which personally i think was quite a simple save as wasnt real power or in the corner. If cech didnt save it then there was something screwed up.

Chelsea in first half had a huge advantage on liverpool, who looked edgy most the game. 2nd half Liverpool game back into it a bit, but it seemed at that point both teams had decided to simply shut shop and take the 1-0 result. It was just... boring. Had more fun reinstalling the sims 2 for the other half during the match, then actually watching it.

Hopefully the second game is more interesting, but i dont think it will be. Liverpool will just go and shut up shop as they know 1 chelsea away goal = liverpool out. So they will go for defence and try to counter, much like Chelsea done last night.

However, at this time anyone could get into the final. The best news for Utd is that Rio possibly fit, and even better, Vidic may be played. He has gone through ful trying and impact training on the shoulder and so far he is holding up. That will be a HUGE boost to the team, especially as Vidic wasnt expected to be ready till second week of May. That may just be the edge we need in the second leg.

However, I still wish Milan vs Utd was the final... because both teams look to attack, whereas Chelsea and Liverpool usually look at defending first so it wont be as entertaining as you would hope. Only thing you can hope for is that whoever out of milan/man utd get through then they score an early goal or two to force the other semifinal winners to actually come out and attack the game.

Heres to hoping Everton get a result at the weekend then ;)

Otherwise i think it's probably game over for the Prem, unless Man City really up their game as it's a local derby i can't really see Utd dropping more points if their key CB's are back.

Oh well, i'll settle for FA cup and CL :D

tbh i love mourinho, he is as funny as hell..... football new would be boreing as hell without him, his interviews are priceless and you cant argue with what he has done as a manager.

I love someone that will just speak thier mind and not care if someone wont like it, tell it like it is...... if you can get away with it .... its amazing .... and he always does :p

As for mind games, there is no mind games between fergie and mourinho as mourinho wins hands down everytime

You just cant play mind games with a scottish accent..... just cant take a scot seriously unless hes got a knife or somthing :p

He came close to a "Kevin Keegan" moment, when complaining about penalties and man united. IMO though, hes not on a par with Fergy or Rafa when it comes to mindgames. Fergy is top drawer at it, whilst Rafa is just cool as a cucumber and cant be riled.

and lmao at Maureen now having a go at Ronaldo. Methinka Moanrinho is losing it a little :D

No-one comes close to beating Ferguson, there is complaining i.e. Neil warnock who I think is funny as fuck. Then there is feeling sorry for yourself which is Mourinho. It was funny watching him throw insults about Liverpool at the press conference to then listen to Benitez belittle him without saying a word.

Quite how niel warnock actually gets a managerial job is beyond me, hes the biggest peice of shite ive seen for a manager and ive seen graeme sharp as a manger, although sharp shouldnt have been given the job but thats a different story.

31% Win Ratio with Oldham
24% Win Ratio with Bury

Who would employ someone with that record? no one else obviously applied for the shef utd job. Hes an abolute joke, anyone that can have a minimal amount of success on football manager would be a better choice for a manager than him, i think the success he has had at shef utd is pure luck. The way he conducts himself is testiment to his managerial skill..... which is not knowing where he is half the time.

As you can think ferguson wins minds game i dont know I didn't think there were any mind games from ferguson. He just seems to talk about nothing in particular, just what happened, hes boreing, i cant listen to the man.

I remember last year ferguson tried to say that united were in a better position than chelsea, mourinho simply sat there in the press conference laid back and said, we are 9 points clear in the premiership, we are still in europe, we are still in the fa cup, i know where id rather be and shrugged. Press conference just burst out into laughter.

The type of charecter ferguson is dull, no personality, quiet and hard to figure what hes going on about somtimes. With a charecter like that there is nothing to give in the mind games deparment or whatever you wish to call it. Its all about looks, how you come accross and how you sound. Mourinho has style, personality, inteligence, great accent, looks and can make the press eat out of his hands. Ferguson has inteligence ill give him that and thats about it.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/6598375.stm

Take for example that recent news story, as was said.... presure being put on utd players, when was the last time you saw a news story in the press about one of chelseas players. Im not sure how well it will work as ronald seems to have done well under controversy this season, its not going to make him any better you can pretty much be sure of that. But mourinho would have to say somthing thats who he is, he wont take ronaldo bullshiting him in the press without saying somthing, it probabaly wont harm ronaldo, but it may do and mourinho had nothing to loose.

The point is nothing will change whether or not it was a penalty. Constantly moaning about it is not going to change it. He is still complaining about Garcias goal, it was given it counted Benitez got 1 over him. Let it go man.

I like Mourinho and I think he has a great talent but he is a bad loser.

Cast your mind back to the late 90s, early 2000's and Fergy was the master at mind games. The way he used to make Wenger lose his rag was great

i was going to mention that but i never paid any attention to it, was part of the united being rivals with whoever is top of the league and beating them and they try to big up everything and create a shit storm. was arsenal, then liverpool, now chelsea.... hell i think they even tried to come up with some crap about blackburn and united when they won the league.

press just wants to sell newspapers at the end of the day and 50% of the football following country supports united and the other 50% wants to see them lose.

I think that this season more people want to see them win than they do Chelsea, they have played by far the most attractive football this season with their will to attack.

It is good for the game that Man Utd have pulled Chelsea back in, I would hate to watch a league like the scottish premier league.

It isnt about enjoying them win, it is about saying fuck me they played amazing the deserved to win. To say that you would not have enjoyed the 7-1 win over Roma makes me question your support for the sport at all tbh.
