well erm.... yes probably 2 penalties (drogba first half, and pique handball). wasnt a sending off (even though possibly in first half on drogba may have been pen+red)... and chelsea just constantly sat back.... i was so bored but yeahy at result.... though barca more chance of beating utd but both full backs banned is a bonus.

I actually think Chelsea deserved to win that.

How so? They took the lead in the 9th minute and defended for the rest of the game. Trying to win a game 1-0 when the opposition only needs an away goal to go through is very, very dangerous.

I was just thinking how classy Iniesta looked then BAM! 1-1.

The way that Barca kept working and closing down, even after having a player wrongly sent off 'cos of Anelka and his cheating scummy ways, was very impressive. They even had a Plan B at the end, lol, with some lumps into the box.

Barca played some seriously good football, Chelsea defended magnificently but their tactics were, ultimately, flawed. See ya Gus.

Thought Chelsea should have had 2 penalties, possibly 3. I thought overall, chelsea's defence was superb, restricting Barca to long range chances, that didnt force Cech into one save. That said, if you give Barca that much possession, they will score. As it turns out, quite fittingly, the best player on the pitch scores the equalising goal.

I'd like to say I feel sorry for chelsea. But I dont, so I wont. The picture of Ashley Cole's head in his hands was priceless as was Micheal Ballack trying to feel the referee up. But all that pale's into comparison against Diver Drogbas little petulent fit towards the ref. It was absolutely hilarious and a great TV moment when he ran upto the camera and shouted "its a fucking disgrace".

Why u keep saying we sat back lol, we had lots of shots , more than barc, we had 3-5 penalty calls. WE spent a lot of time in our half because barc are great at keeping the ball. You think villa would have played diff? it would have been 10-0 to barc at HT and your players would have gone home.

Whether or not he gets a ban that long, UEFA really need to look at their officials used in a game that big. He had an absolute nightmare. We could've had 2, 3, 4 penalties, i didn't think Abidal should've gone off but for the ref to wave everything away was a joke.

All season long we've been penalised by awful decisions and this has epitomised it. I'm glad our players hounded the ref, it was the least he deserved after such an atrocious performance.

I've got no problem admitting Barcelona played the better football over the two legs, and credit to them for that, but yet again a game between two massive teams has been ruined by poor officiating.

THX for posting that ill give ya some rep i just saw the goals on news 2 cracking strikes and penalty shouts but drogba had a 1 on 1 and keeper saved to. and that reaction at the TV camera is priceless...

I'm no fck fan, but That ref was close to the worst I've ever seen.

as for the chelsea game,
the only clear penalty I saw in the second half was the first handball.
the rest had nothing on them unless your wearing blue googles
but barsa were cheated out of a penalty in barca too so eh /shrug.

so to cap it up,
No penalty on the handball = bad dessision
Sending off and free kick = bad dessision

Other than that, I really dont see how he was any better or worse than the average Cl ref.
not great, but ok. I do think all the drogba's antics leading up to tha handball situation played a part.
Still he should have called that penalty.
