Happy at the win but in such a downer of a mood with the fletch decision.. just hard to celebrate with such an injustice. He was certain to get the nod for the final, and after missing last years final it was one his goals for the season.

Could see it on fergi's face at final whistle that as happy as he is with the win he just couldnt jump about due to fletch

I missed that whole part what happened? Did the ref cock up or was it a dive?

aye, it was a bad decision, no doubt about that. It wouldn't have been half as bad if it was Carrick who was missing. Did he even get the ball today?

the commentator said something that struck a chord with me at the end of the match..about arsenal something like "when will possibillities become prizes" as they havent won something for a while how long will their "team for the future" have to wait to go for the prem league title etc

The answer to that is when we keep a team for 3 years without losing big name stars every summer and having to bring more kids in. Every step forward we take we take another one back.

The decision was awful. Fletcher stretched and hit the ball very solidly and took it away then fab went down (not a dive). Was great clearly fair tackle but that football for you. Cant believe you cant appeal a decision unless it mistaken identity. It insane.

As for your team... you made a massive massive step forward by dipping into the purse and buying arshavin... The fact he been your best player for what, 6 weeks ? then this may make wenger more willing to dust of the cobwebs and get the cheque book out again.
Losing Fab will be a big loss but dont think it happen, your midfield needs to be kept together... i would ship ade of to AC milan and be done with him and get a world class striker in and you probably have a good chance next year with maybe looking for another defender and midfielder just to give extra depth.

He been good when he returned, and then picked up niggling injuries which messed up his return... typical after long term injury. But he quality finisher and give him some good backup he will get many goals next year.

Hmm yea, good in theory, but never actually turns out that way, players are contracted so come and go as they please, almost. So in 3/4 years time i bet the squad will be totally different by then, thus not standing by the theory.

Was at the game last night, gutted for Fletch. We played well on the counter attack and totally nuetralised Walcott.

Now onto my next point. Will all the people who said that Ronaldo never performs in the vital games please put your hands up. Yep, you know who you are. Last years final, this years semi-final, turning the Villa game on it's head when we were in danger of throwing the league away and how many goals this season despite missing 8 games? 25!

He was never going to score over 40 again but 25 goals with 5 games to go is still an astonishing return for a player who plays 90% of games on the wings and as I said before missed 8 games at the start of the season.

I am sure the haters will still pick fault but the lad will continue to make mugs of you for many years to come.

Except that he pulled Fabregas arm to even reach the ball, then after he touched he scissored him to the ground. To me it was an obvious penalty and sadly that means red due the to rules.

The pull wasn't anything imo. But I don't think scissor anyone to the ground ever should be legal, it's with that you could say it's ok to go in with the spikes(sp?) first if you touch the ball.

I know we've discussed this before but I don't see him as a winger. He operates more as a forward with licence to roam. Against Arsenal last night he operated mainly through the middle and he turned the game on its head against Villa when he went through the middle.

Just because he comes into the middle does not make him a forward, he starts 90% of games on the left or right and scores just as many from the outside as he does from coming inside. You have to judge it on where he starts his runs from when United regain attacking possesion and invariably it is from the flanks.

while i dont care either way playing against a generally poor defence isn't really strong evidence to support your argument either

Even Mr "I didn't see it" said that it was a harsh decision and that it should not have been a red. Not one TV pundit or sports show has said it was the correct decision, but that's okay, Lethul thinks it was a red.

No one will care from next season cos he will be at Real madrid.

Same old, same old. Weren't you saying this last year?

Arsenal have some of the worse home support going. It must hurt like hell for such a young squad to hear 60k people stop making noise, and then even worse, showing such a lack of faith in them that they leave early.

Just seen a that over a thousand united fans were not allowed in the ground for kick off, and missed the first two goals. UEFA needs to fine someone for that, it's disgraceful.

And Chelsea's defence? Or do I need to mention all the other top defences he has taken apart when he is on his day? How about his international performances?

again of no relevance,
you used yesterdays game as a example to proove your argument, i simply pointed out the flaw in your thinking :p

Nothing more, nothing less

I honestly couldn't care less what people think of that primadonna

Its no different from anywhere else and your place is worse than ours the times i have been. You will always get people leave 5 or 10 minutes early to avoid traffic ect. And watching it on the TV does not do justice to the noise inside the emirates but i was not there last night to see how bad it was or was not. And i also will not take abuse from someone who supports a team that play crowd noises though the PA system when it gets to quiet :)

I have never left a game early and would not have left yesterday but i can see why some would the game was over after 11 minutes.

what relevance does that have to the game yesterday?
you know, the game used as an example a few posts back

Maybe reread then what cho said... i make it easier and repost and bold the bit that is relevant

another thing in regards to that arsenal defense... they cant be as poor as you making out because they been able to cope in the league quite easily against teams with their weakened defense. And tell me this, what defense would be able to stop ronaldo freekick (none, that would be the keepers problem only), and how many defenses could keep up with the counter attack for the second ronaldo goal? There isnt many players with the speed to be able to have tracked park, rooney and ronaldo. The goals had nothing to do with the defense.

Rest of the gameplay, well cant be bothered to get into that, as Arsenals heads went down in the first half and didnt come back up till just before ronaldos second goal.

I agree that he has started performing in big games more recently, but last years final isn't really a great example. Granted he score, but he was playing against Essien who was out of position, onwards from the goal, Ronaldo went missing to be quite honest.

Don't get me wrong i think he's a world class player and his game is always improving but he still does go AWOL from time to time, no sign of him against Liverpool the other week. Scored a pen yes, but did he have a big impact on the game? Did he bollocks :p

So if Ramos is coming to United, will that mean Ronaldo goes the other way? :ninja:
