To be honest either way shouldnt matter. Looking at barcelona recently Chelsea should be able to win, and the way to do this is the high ball into the box and set pieces where you got lots of tall men. Barcelona seem incapable of defending them currently.

In the middle of the field if you can keep Xavi out of it then your 80% of the way there because most the good work goes through him before getting to Messi.

Should be a good couple matches this week.

just out of curiousity, what do you base that on? their 2-6 victory against Real Madrid? or their 4-0 win against Sevilla?

Both teams that have tried to play football against Barcelona and they got stung. If Chelsea had done the same against them at the Nou Camp we would have probably been torn a new one.

Defend deep in numbers and concentrate and you can nullify them. Though to do this for 90 minutes isn't going to be possible for most teams, if Barca get a breakthrough they have no choice but to go out and find something from the game, but end up getting cained for it.

Look at the last three seasons, United, Liverpool and Chelsea have roughed up Barcelona at home. They got the result by playing the way you need to to blunt their creativity. Following each of those games the Barca players have come out whinging for playing too aggresively and unfairly.

At the end of the day thats not the English teams fault, its Barcelona's because instead of formulating a plan B for when they get roughed up, they choose to whinge about it. If you don't let them have their own way you stand more chance of getting something from the game as well as a giggle in the papers the next day when the likes of Xavi and Messi spit their dummies out :D

I base it on their inability to defend the high ball, one of chelsea's key strengths

Predictions for tonight? I am quietly confident, think it may actually finish goaless or 1-1 on the night. I do not see United or Arse getting a comprehensive victory.

I'm also quite confident that United will go through, but then again, with only 1-0 on the aggreggate anything can happen really

I'd much rather see a United - Barca match than any other! But I think that Barca will have a hard time at The Bridge

arsenal 2, Utd 1 - utd through on away goal

chelsea 2 barcelona 3

......

Pure guess work there though. Think utd will get the away goal and if we get it early on then it could be a high scoring game with lots of counter attacks from utd.

Chelsea vs barca is based on barcelona scoring first and forcing chelsea to open up.... can see chelsea actually getting a 1-0 win though if score first.

I'm thinking (Hoping!) it's 2-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates. I want an Arsenal Barca final simply for revenge! We got screwed in the '04 final.

I'm rooting for Man United, lets keep the English European Cup Winners an elite club ;)

Seriously, though, it is incredible that no team from London has (as yet) won the European Cup. With the wealth and pulling power of the clubs based there not one has won it.

Of course with the Champions League now being open to the top few and not just Champions as such the odds against a London club winning it at some time continue to diminish. But the longer the current situation lasts the better ;)

OGetting nervious about the game now, it is dodgy team layout as not got tevez... ok help protect him missing the final if we get through but even with that I dont like the lineup...

kinda hoping that Ronaldo is uptop on his own with Rooney on left and Park on right.

Rooney upfront on his own according to sky and bbc. Ronaldo and Park on the wings. I would imagine that we will play four in midfield, with ronaldo more a supporting striker.

Our midfield looks set up to harrass Arse and give them no time on the ball, Arsenal still look weak in defence, it will not be easy, but I think we can do this.

itv stating it ronaldo up top on his own.... that the formation that makes tactical sense to me because the longer that arsenal are frustrated the better. And as such I like the 'slightly' more defensive option of having park and rooney on the wings. Walcott was near non-existant in the first match due to rooneys work.

Guess we see in just a minute.... be a very good game, but if Man Utd score first I can see it being a legendary game due to Arsenal needing to go all out attack.

Park in the starting eleven :) He'll hopefully get to play in the final, unlike last time, where he wasn't even on the bench.

Carrick is there aswell though. That's a big + for Arsenal.

Not in the slightest. But it is funny to serenade Arsenal fans at the Emirates with "have you won the European Cup?". A definite crowd pleased that one :D

in which i'd just reply with the usual, have you haven't won the premiership...blah blah blah :)

calms down a second..........

now i can say what i was about to when ronaldo smashed that goal in...

Arsenal came out strong and the first goal against the run of play... i feel really really sorry for gibbs though. Hopefully he isnt too rattled now because i really dont want to see him fall apart, he doesnt deserve that. Was good to see van persie go and put an arm round him.

This game shouldbe a cracker now though.. maybe a soft freekick to go but really, who else would decide to smash that at goal from that position. Would like to get 1 more goal by half time and get Rooney and Evra of the pitch

ah well, congratulations united - I think it's safe to say that they're the first team in the final :)
