Can't log into DAoC

So it seems to be big fuckup from goa again ....
It started 06.07.2004 and still no official responce from goa how they think to fix it ... Just try to remember, what u did with ur servers or what u was supposed to do and didnt this day/evening. It seems affect Spain and Estonia IPs atm, hopfully France connections gonna be bugged too really soon ...
I just want solution and compensation for lost days ....

No one says its goa's fault, have u tried calling ur internat company over phone and ask them why you cannot access GOA's page while others can and have them try it from their central? I had a problems 1 week ago where i could only connect to danish pages, could be something like that ya know and that was our central who had fucked up big time and had to spend 3 days fixing it.

Asmuch one of my friends work there i sure did - they have same problem - camelot-europe dont open, tho tracers and pinging is ok ... So it IS GOA problem ...

There's no point email spamming Goa as it will only slow down any response they do make. Also any emails/reports which don't go through the right channels will be junked. I appreciate that you can't access Rightnow to file a report and I've put a post on the E&E forums drawing their attention to this thread. Unfortunately there's no response as yet but that doesn't mean they aren't looking into the problem.

Ok. I've just spoken to the network guys.
We aren't blocking any IP ranges or countries. They've checked the network thoroughly and it's all clear so any problems you are having are to do with routing from your ISP to the servers. You need to contact your ISP and get them to look into their routing as it's likely that one of the big international hubs such as opentransit is blocking certain IP ranges.
There's no point in spamming us with these reports as it's not something we have any control over.

It's not a Goa problem. Our servers are not blocking any addresses at all. It's almost certainly going to be one of the big hubs close to our network which is refusing connections from certain IP ranges. It's not individual ISPs but the central hubs.
There won't be free days credited as we only grant these where there is a problem on our side that we caused or could have prevented and then only in certain circumstances.

GOA will do their best to make your Player Account accessible permanently, except for interruptions required for technical and maintenance operations necessary for the a game like DAOC and referred to in article 1.
GOA can however not be held responsible for difficulties in accessing DAOC that may be due to your Internet access conditions and, more generally, for any malfunction of interruption to your Player Account connected to or resulting from an act of God.

I understand that it's frustrating but in this case we can't do anything. It's purely down to your ISP to sort out the routing problem.

Calling Massive ISP telling them that u cant open a single website (didnt happened with any other one), or that u cant play, does not seems to be usefull, just tried 5 min ago ;p.

There is not just 1 ISP, and finally is not just 1 location with the problem. So the problem may not be on my ISP, and GOA not seems to have any clue, if all internet could be down but GOA routers are ok is still not a Goa problem?.

Anyway thx a lot for the time & answers requiel, but the true is that nobody can do anything to fix that till it get fixed by itself, so the ones with the problem just can wait.

This has happened to me before..and for the idiots out there who dont seem to grasp the concept of routers outside of GOA's network

If 1 of the main routers is down or bottle necked then this isnt down to GOA to sort out...u can either wait till the managing body solves it...or get onto ur ISP to sort it out.

prime example of a main router going down...ppl from different areas experiencing the same problem...but yet they probably can ping GOA's server but not connect to it

wish ppl would use their brains more ....before putting their big gobs into gear first and blaming GOA for everything they dont understand!

My problem was solved an hour after i informed my ISP...doesnt take too much...just a little effort on ur part

My ISP is Vispa, and i live in Essex (South-East of England) and i've emailed them explaining my problem, waiting on a reply now. Anyone else from England having this problem, or is it the result of choosing a less commercial Isp?

I've been having the same problem and my ISP is also Vispa. I will contact them tomorrow to see if they can track down the problem.

If you didn't notice earlier GoA said that it had nothing to do with their servers. Saying that GoA should refund you because a main router close to their servers went down (which probobly was the case) is just ridiculous. In that case GoA should give you money if you unlplugged your modem and couldn't play because of that.

my internet went tits up on tuesday night late, i am on btopenworld broadband in manchester area, i was playing tfc and suddenly things were lagging all over the play, but my ping was fine and everyone else on server was fine, i could no longer load any websites, sometimes i could load have a page but never finished entire page, i could not get in daoc either, i could play tfc/cs but too much lag (though fine ping), so that was useless, i check status on my modem and it had 2000 errors and was raising.. i try ping trace and it timed out, and had 100% packet loss after it had bounced off 2 targets.

msn still worked even though took sodding ages to connect, got a friend who works for isp in denmark to vnc me (this worked to, though was laggy at times for him) <vnc is a program to remote control other computers from remote locations / basiclly i see mouse moving by its self doing things > anyway he had a gander at stuff, he determined not a computer problem, its isp problem and should ring up get checked out, never bothered, thought it be up soon fixed. next day and a half later its still down, not improving, if anything getting worse,

i ring up a status line and have some dispressed bloke say hello and welcome to btbroad.. for godsake.. carrys on talking, we are sorry to incovience you blah blah but our manchester router is having problems due to large amount of users in the area being infected with worms, please visit <insert website here> to find solutions to fixing worms affecting your computer. then he said some stuff about our enginers are busy at working trying to resolve the problem.

another day later and my connection works again, still had error or 2 poping up on status, however within 2 hours it was completly fine again.


any who thats my storey of what happened this week, i cant actaully find anyone else who had same problem as me, but must of been a few, just wondered this might have somthing to do with it, IE maybe a new super worm is infecting poeple and causing isps some havok,

had a simular problem with loggin in daoc on my 2nd computer.. it wasnt any firewall problem in my case or what so ever.. couldnt play any mgames anymore if i wanted to play warcraft 3 or any other game, it showed me the logo of the game and then the game froze..

after removing 1 of my memory sticks of the mainboard everything went smoothly again,
