Cant buy CoH...

I turn to you lot in this time of trouble, as i have been tempted by the recent beta of City of Heroes, but now its going live, i cant find anywhere to buy the bloody game

If i try ordering inside the UK, the release date is 9/7/04 (im assuming Euro release?) but if i try from someone like Amazon.com (.co.uk doesnt list it yet) it tells me "we cannot ship to that address" but doesnt say why

if anyone can offer me a good, reliable, and safe site to buy this fun game from, let me know please...

Well, i was in the last month of the beta, so i already have the client, but i need a regular activation key, or what i would assume is the equivelant of our CDKey...

I was sent one for the beta, but now need a full game one, and where can i buy that from??

i just had a gander on the official FAQ on the website, and it does say that you will be able to purchase a CD key and download the game client from the website when its launched, for people that cant have the game shipped to they're countries for various reasons. they will only accept credit cards as payment..


now im tempted to cancel me dvdboxoffice order and do that, cant be arsed waiting a week for the dam thing to ship

I think you can buy game cards from import madness for £ and that allows sixty days of gameplay.

so.... when are they gonna enable u to purchase the CD key and download the client?? tomorrow? when its released?? cos..... i've got a dilema, i've got coh due to be despatched from dvdboxoffice tomorrow, and the game is released tomorrow, so i either have to cancel the dvdboxoffice order now and pray to god that u can download it tomorrow, or just wait for the dvd box office order to come, or just pay twice :|

Unless they have got shit hot download servers you are gonna be joining a queue of ~1000 other people trying to download the game as well. Courier might be the least stressful method of getting the game.

/edit Btw, this isn't a poorly disguised attempt to disuade people from downloading the game so I can get a faster-ish d/l rate!

baah, left a post about it on the official forums, and some wise guy posts a reply saying u wont be able to download the client anywhere near the release of the game, and that it'll probably take a few MONTHS for you to be able to...

so, sod it, im keeping my order with dvdboxoffice... and if they do randomly decide to let u download it and buy a key, then i'll do that and just flog the box on ebay or to a mate..

ahhh well, i've sent an email to the cancel section of dvdboxoffice, and mentioned in the email i'd like my item upgraded to a fast track delivery, if its possible.... and if not, to just cancel it and i'll reorder on the 2 day delivery thing. sure its like 10 quid, but i cant wait a bloody weeeeek for this game

hmm, i was all beta'd up, so i have the client - where abouts did it say the key could be purchased from the site? i ended up ordering from Gamespot, but shipping costs are a piss take sadly...

Download servers were very good. Didn't need to use a download manager either. Much faster than the L2 download.

In the US it is out tomorrow - Gamestop expects it at lunchtime.

MEH! i found that link and bought a key online, so i mailed Gamespot, thinking that like most of the world, they would be closed on a sunday, and cancelled...

This morning i get a call from customs, telling me i have to pay an extra £16 charges on it, and it'll be arriving tomorrow morning

THIS SUCKS!! Gamespot already charged me an extra $15.99 shipping charges, so what this extra is i dont know... if anyone in the UK wants to buy a copy, i'll sell it to you at the same it cost me so far, about £65

Yeah, avoid Gamestop if not living in the Channel Islands.... I ordered SWG from them, and tho it was fast, it was 65 quid.

Damn 17 quid import duty - actually, only a few pounds, but the admin fee for it makes up the larger amount
