Would be nice to have a Planetside and EVE forum as both games are gold/released soon and will have slightly more players than Rallisport Challenge or Devastation

Is it like an FPS ?

Can you beat high-lvl characters using your madskillz and rocket-juggling combos or do the students with too much time still have you at a tremendous disadvantage after 24 hours ?

It looks a lot like tribes from what I've seen, except you need to earn your right to use vehicles and weapons with experience. Don't think those that play it a ridiculous amount will be at the advantage they would have in RPGs.

there should be a new section in the forums called MMOG with planet side and EVE etc put into them (since PS doesn't really come into a definite catagory) if not planetside should be FPS and EVE in the RTS/RPG catagory.

I have to say that if anyone (who normally likes FPS games) really doesn't like this then I'd be VERY suprised.

Unlike other subscription games you DON'T have to put in loads of times. There's no levels, there are Battle Ranks - as you kill/hack/snipe/pilot etc you get points and you can invest these and get certificates so you can use the better equipt and boost your abilites. What's best about this game though - is that even if you just started playing, you can still kill someone who has played for months just the same (unlike daoc). You log in, you get a gun, you join a squad, you kill. No hitting lesser spotted warthogs for 5 weeks to gain an ability. There are no NPC's, if it moves, its a person or has people in it.

This is what I always wanted Tribes to be tbh. At the weekend there were about 500+ players in a 3 way battle all fighting for control of a vital bridge and tower that overlooked it.

No NDA anymore btw, there's loads of info out there atm.
